Great place to visit, always some kind of street act going on by the memorial l… just be aware of the usuals pic-pockets and beggars in the area. Make the most of your time to look at the electronic wallboard on Shaftesbury Avenue… the last time I was there it had a 3D effect on it.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain at the heart of the famous Piccadilly circus, is one of the major attractions of central London, not just for the fountain itself but rather for the emotional beauty of Piccadilly circus and the beautiful shops and architectural buildings all around. The famous Piccadilly circus is also home of many restaurants, bars, pubs and major chain stores. There are also these huge screens that light-up the entire square and junction at night which exemplify a little the Times square of Manhattan. At this area you can find every thing and anything that you would like especially if you are a tourist. There is even a big Apple shop a few roads away and many other great brands. Trafalgar square is also just about a 14 minutes walk from Piccadilly circus and Buckingham Palace is a short walk away too. On top of every thing else mentioned above, right there is the Piccadilly circus station where you can take the underground tube almost everywhere you need to go nearby or faraway.
Piccadilly Circus is a popular and maybe the busiest road junction and public space in Regent street, London, which is surrounded by theatre, stores, clubs and bars or so. This is close to the major shopping and entertainment spots and that is the reason why it has been always crowded. In addition to this, this circus is in some way like Time Square in London in that there are huge LED displays for commercials mounted on the buildings, which makes this place very unique, special and attractive. Personally displays now are quite complicated compared with previous ones that were more clear, concise and intuitive Furthermore there is an iconic Memorial fountain and statue of Anteros which is not that impressive frankly speaking. And this place is also place where you can go anywhere in a relatively short time, like Soho, Chinatown, Leiscester Square, National Gallery and so on. You definitely will be made to happen to visit this place even if you do not intend.
Very Iconic place in the middle of piccadilly circus. Live street performances are really exciting. Atmosphere around is quite busy during the weekend, christmas and evening time. Many beautiful buildings and architecture all around.
The twilight had settled upon London like a well-worn coat, the last licks of summer sun painting the sky a muted apricot. A cool breeze, carrying the scent of roasted chestnuts and fish and chips, tickled my nose as I ventured into the belly of Piccadilly Circus. The air crackled with a frenetic energy. Streams of red double-decker buses rumbled by, their open doors spewing forth hurried Londoners. Taxis buzzed like angry bumblebees, their yellow tops a stark contrast to the towering neon signs that bled light into the gathering dusk. The iconic Eros statue, his bow forever drawn in a never-ending display of love, glistened in the spotlight. A gaggle of tourists, a cacophony of languages swirling around them, snapped photos with childlike glee. Street performers, a juggler with flaming pins and a man contorted into an impossible pretzel, vied for the attention of the bustling crowd. The familiar melody of a lone busker playing a mournful tune on his violin drifted through the air, a melancholic counterpoint to the vibrant chaos. The sweet aroma of candy floss, a childhood favorite, hung heavy in the air, a siren song leading me towards a brightly lit stall. As I wandered further, the theatres of Leicester Square loomed ahead, their ornately decorated facades promising an evening of grand entertainment. The anticipation of the upcoming Olympics buzzed beneath the surface, a shared excitement coursing through the throngs of people. The city pulsed with a life of its own, a symphony of sights, sounds, and smells. For a moment, caught in the whirlwind of Piccadilly Circus, I was but a small piece in this grand London tapestry, a solitary observer of the city's vibrant heartbeat.
This is a well known iconic monument in the middle of London. The whole area is bustling and always vibrant with activity. The monument itself is quite special, and as you can see from my photos, the police will protect it and like to prevent people from climbing on it.Visited onWeekend

At the late hour we passed by, this side of London was still awake, streets lights made it feel like it almost day-time. London, England, UK
Great place to set the meeting area here. Easy to find if you're lost here, and want to meet up someone. Atmosphere around is quite busy during the weekend, the buses does get in the way sometimes, but at this point, you'll have many thing to see, and you can feel the London from here. It is also really beautiful at night/evening time. Reminds me of memories when I played computer games for the first time :
