Visiting friends in the village. Pleased to see bar open. Beautiful inside, obviously a lot of work and thought gone into design. Owners and staff very pleasant and welcoming. Can't wait to go back. Only wish it was open longer. Keep up the good work!!!
Delighted to see that the Stanwick Arms has been saved. Grew up in Aldborough 1962 to 1974 and used to play on the Green outside the pub. In those days the publican was Jack Holywell?. I can recall collecting "pop-bottles" from the hedgerows and returning them to the back of the pub to collect the 6d deposit money! Played rounders on the Green when I attended the Aldborough Village School. There used to be a magnificent tree outside the pub. Happy Days. When I am next "up North" and you are up and fully running I will call at The Stanwick. Wish you well.
Lovely staff, good beer .. acoustics not great stone floor poor opening times, fab beer.
We have been going to this pub for many years and were sad when it has been closed for quite some time. We were pleased to see it open again and were looking forward to going inside . However. inside we had a shock at the new decor all open bar area and extremely noisy and quite unfriendly bar staff and people who also unfriendly . We were very sad . This used to be a friendly welcoming pub which we loved to visit .
A return visit on 26 Sep 2018 for dinner in a company 4 has not changed my mind. Everyone of us were delighted with our meal and the service, And wow the beer from the local micro brewery sorry I cannot remember it's name has to be one of the best beers I've tasted. I like a hoppy beer.I will surely return for more.
It’s been a few years now since there’s been a rural spot we could meet on a Friday, that used to be just for a beer! The stanwick is now the spot we end the week.
A Caribbean Friday Night Special. Excellent value for money. Rate the chef's Coconut and bean soup and the Rum &Treacle Tart. Really friendly and attentive staff team. Loved it
