From start to finish we were welcomed and our little dog too. Room clean ,warm and beds very comfortable. Shower had piping hot water. We had the top room overlooking the church. We ate and drank in the bar area with the dog in the evening and had a nice time. Drinks fairly priced. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff extremely pleasant and hardworking and we wish we could have stayed longer and also checked out the village more , as it looked lovely. Many thanks for a pleasant stay.
A delightful old country inn. A basic rustic small bar area which was very busy with locals on a Friday night. An equally small bijou dining room where diners are served good fayre for dinner and breakfast. Our room which was cleaned to a high standard had large bathroom with spa bath. If you want a boutique hotel this is not the place for you. This is a friendly traditional pub b&b -we had a very good stay.
We stayed here to attend a family wedding at Hoar Cross Hall. We loved staying here - we were made to feel so welcome. The food dinner and breakfast was delicious, the service was amazing and everyone was so friendly. We really can’t find fault anywhere with our two night stay. Our family wished they had booked to stay here too. We would love to visit again.
Lovely place and the landlord Brian was absolutely the best one we have come across in a long while. The room complete with its own bathroom was clean, comfortable and the meals were all well cooked and enjoyable to eat. Nothing was too much trouble and his cheerful outlook was a joy to be seen. Thank you Brian for all your care and attention to detail and we enjoyed every minute of our stay from Rene and Michael Lockyer.
Hosted an Xmas football party here. Was perfect in every aspect. The hosting, the food, the prices, reception we recieved, the service and the venue were all more than we expected. Absolutely no faults at all the night will be remembered for a long time as being the best we have had until we book again anyway. Highly recommend and cannot wait for the next one.
Wonderful b&b/hotel, such a friendly atmosphere great rooms great breakfast and fabulous resturant meals. Lovely pub garden seating area and good seating available when drinking inside. The host and all staff are lovely. Plenty of free parking available in the private pub car park. I would highly recommend this excellent establishment.
Stayed over as part of Brit Stops Motorhome. Absolute incredible service, from the clientele to the landlord, 5* welcome and service. Honestly couldn't do enough for us. Thank you so much for the stay over. Noteworthy details: From the 'newly formed darts team' to the locals sat at the bar, we were made to feel like this should be our local !, Thanks again for a brilliant stop-over.
We visited this place whilst travelling about in our Motorhome, they let us park up for the night free of charge in their car park in exchange for popping in for a meal and a few drinks. So so pleased we found this place. The hospitality was excellent, the staff really couldn't seem to do enough for us. The food was absolutely delicious, really couldn't fault anything. We were offered fresh water for our motorhome, a key so we could use the facilities during the night if needed & we were also invited to breakfast the following morning The 'locals' were all very friendly & welcoming too. We will definitely be back.
The bar & restaurant here are charming, really lovely. A wonderful village location, extremely quiet, with attentive staff and delicious food. But the room was tired and very dated. It needs a deep clean on walls and floors, and the bathroom feels basic. Doors in the hallways could also do with closing slowly and QUIETLY, and not waking you up with a start everytime someone blasts through them. I would recommend it for the food and service alone, but you should have mediocre expectations for the room itself.
Such a great hotel/ pub - experienced wonderful Northern hospitality last night, really tasty meal -locally made venison pie washed down with locally brewed pint of IPA brewery in back garden. And the breakfast in the morning let’s just say I won’t need lunch today. A very comfortable bedroom - slept so well. I’ll be back !!!
