Very quiet and peaceful CL, lots of visiting birds.. we put a half coconut out for them, but it disappeared overnight other wildlife had it I guess.. ** Two days later, we found the empty coconut shell 2 fields over . Dog walking from the site. The site does have a shower and toilet, but we didn't use it, we prefer to use our own. They ask you to use eco toilet fluid the green one. Beautiful sunsets.. We visited during Mother's Day! Without me knowing, my daughter had spoken with Sue the CL owner and arranged to have mother's day parcels and cards sent to the site, and Sue had very kindly offered to bring them down to me on the day! I thought this was very kind, and appreciated it greatly.
We had a lovely 3 days here exploring the Suffolk county side. Sue keeps a very laid back campsite. Turn up, find a spot and relax. There are no specific pitches so just find a spot you like. The loo and shower are basic but clean and the shower is large and has plenty of hot water. The walks from site are endless and it's also easy to drive to places such as Lavenham, Kersey and Walberswick which are definitely worth visiting. Flatford Mill is only about 40mins away too and along with East Bergholt and Dedham make a good day out. Thanks Sue - we'll be back.
Hidden gem. Sue and Poppy make you feel so welcome, and it's been an absolute pleasure to stay there again ! Escape the busy life, and feel the nature all around you. Tranquil is probably the best way to describe this wonderful place
Lovely peaceful campsite. Friendly owner who makes you very welcome. Highly Recommended
Excellent overnight stay, good breakfast too. Would definitely recommend.
Great CL so quite. Plenty of EHU.
If you like a romantic stay in a an 18th century moated farmhouse with wobbly floors, fantastic outlook and excellent local produce breakfasts this the place for you. Also has a caravan club certified location 5 caravans with 2 acres. All recommended very highly, will be back again soon.
Sue is a lovely, caring lady who made us extremely welcome to her farm. She took great trouble to keep us all safe with lots of hand sanitiser and spacing the pitches far, far away from one another. I can't comment on the shower and toilet facilities as although Stanstead Hall site has them they were closed due to the virus. Sue has a wifi extender but unfortunately we were parked on the wrong side of a barn so couldn't get any signal, so my tip for you would be that if you need/want wifi, park in the main field on the right of the driveway going into the field. The fields around the farm are open to you to go for walks and the edges are trimmed to enable walking without having to push through the undergrowth. The Suffolk area is lovely and picturesque and Sue is open all year round, go visit.
A really lovely adults only CL. Book via caravan & motorhome club. A beautiful CL & so peaceful. Been here many times. Sue owns the CL & does everything possible to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Have also used the B&B in the 17th century farmhouse. Wonderful food & excellent service.
Peaceful and beautiful place! The owner is very nice and helpful. We will definitely go back
