Great pub from what we saw in our brief visit. 4pm on a Tuesday is not the ideal to suss a place. Lots of good keg beers incl stout. A local feel pub which gets a massive tick in the craft beer box.
What a great pub. The staff are so very friendly. The Pizzas are amazing. The music is fab and the wood burners make the pub warm and cosy. Such a great atmosphere. Lovely to go to a pub where there is a mix of all age groups. A big attraction is their wide range of ales. So worth a visit.
Good selection of keg and cask, clean pub and friendly staff. Enjoyed the Tiny Rebel birthday selection recently.
You all probably know by now that The Stanford is back on track. As good as it previously was but now with a contemporary attitude towards its patrons. Food will soon be back on track, thank goodness, so watch out for that. Oh. Food is back Thursday, Friday & Saturday. There are now a total of twenty pumps on the bar with a constantly changing selection of draft and keg ales and beer. We can thank our lucky stars that, once again, we can all continue to supp real ale and beer at this unique establishment in Lowestoft. The new owners are as fanatical about beer and ale as the previous landlord, and the quality and selection on offer reflects this by the keg load. This place is a hidden gem in this town. Like good ale? Like The Stanford. And now food, too.
The first time we visited the Stanford Arms and we had a fantastic night, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Note of warning though some of the guest ales were staggeringly strong in terms of volume, had one that was 11% nearly put me on my a€$% There was a great local band on, but after that beer I've no idea who they were
10/10 service. No gluten free pizza bases until owner left to pick some up especially so i could sit in and enjoy one. What a great bloke. Get yourself down the Stanford Arms!
Great pub and good atmosphere with friendly staff, but very poor selection of alcohol free drinks for those of us who are driving or teetotal.
We went for Fuppizza and it was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend the siracha fries! The outside area is lovely to spend an evening in with friends. They have a great selection of beers and also quite a few different 0% alcohol drinks which was great with me being pregnant. The staff were super friendly and chatty. Its a really welcoming place :-

Best real ale pub in Lowestoft, great service, fantastic themed food and music nights. Worth a visit.
