Outside is the peaceful vibe in East Anglia! Food has exceptional nutritional value! Only lacking pool table & dart board to make the complete package!
Nice pub and beer garden. Unfortunately, they had a chef off when we went in so we could not order food as walk-in.
Last night was our first visit and it certainly won’t be our last. The menu is big enough to be well balanced but not so big that one starts to worry about ’ping’ cuisine! We had Mackerel fillets and smoked haddock chowder to start followed by the Rib-eye steak and chicken supreme. No room for puddings! All of the elements of the meal were perfectly executed- faultless. The wine list is excellent. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent pub and restaurant in Somerleyton friendly staff good atmosphere food very good highly recommend
£18 for a beef burger and tables designed for people with no legs… either that or someone has been overly eager with a hacksaw to level the table and reduced the height too much. I spent the whole meal man spreading to that outrage of my feminist girlfriend… no matter what the positives of the venue it’s was marred substantially by this protracted physical discomfort. Unfortunately there were no suitable alternatives for the group size.
Lovely location, lovely food, good service and a menu that makes me want to come back and try everything!
Nice old pub, cosy but a little cold where we sat our fault for moving from where we were put! All 3 main courses were well cooked and very tasty; halibut, burger and shin of beef. Although a great mood of flavours, the beef dish was a bit meagre. Will go again when next in the area.
Always a friendly welcome and a warm atmosphere. Great selection of beers including local brews and spirits. The restaurant is excellent, Sunday lunch is fantastic and it's dog friendly. I never miss the opportunity to recommend to friends and family.
Wonderful country pub down by the river. Good food, beers, fire, dog friendly and play garden.
I had a meal for my Birthday at the Dukes Head Somerleyton and it was really really good. The food was amazing, such lovely flavours and really well cooked with attention to detail and well presented . . Compliments to the chef The service was so friendly and we felt so well looked after as soon as we walked in. Can’t recommend it enough . . We went at night but the location is also really nice if you fancy a stroll. Phil
