Staff very welcoming, tables and general clean, food fine generous portions, how people eat starters, mains and a desert is beyond our understanding Nice visit and overall all happy. Prices are agreeable as is the menu options Suggestion, Introduce a home Home Made steak and ale pie on the menu with lots of onion gravy
where do I start Got food delivered 2 x Beef roast Food arrived cold, Beef was very pale cold and chewy as hell, roast potatoes cold and rubbery, yorshire pudding overcooked and more like a pancake, Veg was all coocked together so the purple cabbage made carrots and sprouts purple which also was cold, Colly & cheese had a funny smell and tasted like asda value range, and gravey was very runny... all in all £28 for 2 sunday lunches and most was thrown in the bin and the dog got the rest.... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT ORDER THE SUNDAY LUNCH BEEF!!!!!! since they are only 8 mins away there was no reason for the food to be cold ....
Ordered delivery as I'd heard they were good. Couldn't be further than the truth. Won't be ordering again. The food was substandard and cold. This picture was supposed to be chilli, chips and cheese. It's a solid inedible mass. And I've just pulled a pea out of the garlic chibatta.
Wonderful Christmas meal. Lovely food and nice vegetarian options. The cocktails were also lovely and reasonably priced. First visit but will definitely not be my last. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Service was quick and all had an enjoyable time.Food: 5/5
After writing a review from the last time we went to The Blue Boar, I was very concerned about the food, but we went on Christmas Day and we were very pleased to say the food was very good, the staff were also good. I would chance going again and I hope that things will be the same. I wanted to leave a good review this time and I can. It was very good indeed.
It was our 2nd visit as hoped for an improvement from the 1st one but no! Service very slow, took and hour to receive any food, it was very busy but they need to have more staff or not book so many tables. We were sat by the door despite asking not to be and elderly members of our party really felt the cold from it. On the plus side, we enjoyed the food once it arrived. We wont give them a 3rd try though, the hour wait has really put us off. Parking: Carpark full when we arrived , had to drop off and driver find parking elsewhere.
Very busy place when we visited on a Wednesday evening. The phone didn't stop ringing. The staff, who were very friendly and helpful, were kept on the go all the time. The food was tasty and really good value. We will definitely be returning.Food: 5/5
Rarely leave bad reviews, but this was by far the worst tasting roast dinner I've ever had. The roast potatoes were rock hard and cold, like they had been left out all day. The cauliflower cheese, I can only describe as disgusting. It tasted like it had been marinating in vinegar. The other veg also had a vinegar taste to them, although not as bad. The only things that were edible was the beef and Yorkshire pudding. Really disappointing. Have ordered a roast from you before and it was very nice so it is a shame, I won't order a roast from here again.
Much improved from previous visit over 12 months ago. The food was tasty and a good helping so much so didn't have room for a dessert. Josh who served us was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Although not a veggie, I thought they had a varied selection
Even though we live close by it was our first visit for various reasons since the last takeover. However, we will not leave it so long before returning. Had a lovely lunch + dessert accompanied by alcohol and Joyce the waitress was excellent.Food: 5/5
