I visited St Thomas Cross pub last weekend and had the most fabulous experience! It's a really cool, rural pub in Rugby with a pretty convenient parking space nearby. Staff was very friendly and welcoming - we very much enjoyed having a chat with them! Beers were great and the atmosphere Idyllic! I certainly recommend this pub - please, visit when around the area! You'll love It!
A very traditional country pub complete with great beer, great friendly characters, no food, and no nonsense! Just a great place to relax, enjoy company, and have a great time!
Although our visit was for a wake for my cousin funeral, I will say it was inviting, friendly, kept lovely for an oldie worldie pub, and the food was very good. Landlady was so lovely as was the rest of the staff. Would definitely recommend.
Nice friendly locals pub. If I lived nearby I would use regularly, but I was on a long drive and just stopped for a break.
First visit to the Seven Stars, good beer, nice atmosphere and staff polite and helpful. Will definitely go again.
Went for the fireworks. As always an entertaining display glad I walked and didn't have my car in the car park!!! Bar as always busy!
St Thomas Cross is a very popular traditional rural pub. It boasts a large car park and is situated on the junction of four roads just outside the village of Newton and roughly 10 minutes drive north from Rugby town centre. It is a Free House and serves a selection of real ales and enjoys a listing on the Rugby CAMRA web site.  At the time of writing they don’t serve food, which is unfortunate as it is very family friendly and even has a substantial children’s play area, though BBQs are a regular feature during the summer months. Live music is provided on Sundays and local bands can entertain the customers outdoors using the purpose built shelter in the BBQ area and such events attract visitors from as far away as Liverpool.
I really don't go here enough... its only a couple of miles away. Thank god it hasn't been tempted down the gastro pub route... it would certainly do very well if it did.. don't haha. Just a traditional country pub, no airs or graces, just friendly. Decent selection of beers and lagers and prices are honest. For a pub thats out of town, It's pretty busy too, so this tells you everything that you need to know. Old school, no nonsense pub. Good job, well done.
Friendly traditional pub in an unusual location
Great pub good beer lots going on really nice place to visit children welcome as well
