Ambassadors Theatre
"The Ambassadors Theatre is relatively young in comparison with other West End theatres, built as part of a pair with the adjacent St Martin’s Theatre in 1913. Revue shows defined the early to mid-20th century, until Agatha Christie’s thriller The Mousetrap famously made its world premiere in 1952. The whodunnit ran at the Ambassadors Theatre until its 21st birthday in 1973 when it transferred next door to the larger St Martin’s Theatre. The Mousetrap continues to this day and is the West End’s and Britain’s longest-running show.More recently, The Ambassadors was the creative home of acclaimed producer Sonia Friedman."

I had the pleasure of watching Stomp at the Ambassador Theatre a while ago, and I absolutely loved the performance. The energy was infectious from start to finish, as the cast used everyday objects like trash cans, brooms, and even their own bodies to create incredible rhythms and beats. The choreography was sharp, and the creativity behind each routine kept the audience engaged throughout. What made it even more impressive was the way the performers injected humor and personality into the show without any dialogue. The precision and timing were impeccable, making it a truly unique and exhilarating experience. I highly recommend Stomp to anyone looking for something fresh, fun, and full of life!
First visit here to see Kathy and Stella Solve A Murder. Performance was good, lead actresses were excellent but a pretty good ensemble cast. The theatre is beautiful but the seats are very close together. The man in front of me kept touching my knees unintentionally everytime he hugged his partner. Bit too squashed for my liking but didn't spoil the afternoon. Had ticket on phone ready to be scanned only to be informed that they don't scan anymore as people didn't like it. Had to look for the booking email on phone to show her tickets. Having said that the seats in the Circle Row E had a good view of the stage so happy with that. A few minutes walk from Leicester Square tube station. Near The Ivy and The Mousetrap.
Small but beautiful theatre. Kathy and Stella was so much fun, great musical.
Kathy and Stella solve a murder was wonderful. We bought 20 pound tickets at the very back of the stalls and the view was still perfect view. Thank you to the staff, always nice, kind and available.
Just enjoyed a performance of Kathy and Stella, which was great. The theatre however has seats that are too small, with many patrons seated near us commented on this. If you are not petite, be prepared to be somewhat, if not, unpleasantly cramped, as we were. Consider an aisle seat if you are in the Circle and want more room. The entry door to the Circle, when fully open, blocks half of the stairway to the upstairs toilets and bar, congesting the stairway at intermission. The view of the stage from row D, however, was very good.
The Benjamin Button performance at the Ambassadors Theatre is nothing short of fantastic. The cast delivers a captivating and emotionally stirring rendition of the classic story, with each actor bringing depth and nuance to their roles. The small, intimate setting of the Ambassadors Theatre only heightens the experience, making every moment feel personal and immersive. It’s a venue that allows the audience to feel deeply connected to the performers. The staff at the theatre are welcoming and helpful, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the evening Overall, it’s a must-see performance in a charming venue, just make sure to budget wisely for the snacks!
Great small theatre and wonderful show - Kathy and Stella. Only negative was that the seats in the circle offer very little leg room.
We saw "Enfield Haunting" here, while in London. It's an enchanting little theatre. I dont think a bad seat in the house. Has the old vintage, and classic vibe! Thoroughly enjoyed the play here.
I have been to quite a few theatres in London over the years. The Ambassadors is particularly charming and characterful. I loved that you could order a drink at the bar and this was served in a real glass rather than plastic! You could also bring your drink into the theatre with you which was a welcome change to lots of other venues! A great experience and I look forward to visiting again :
Really really kind and helpful staff. Cozy setting and even the furthest back seats have a good view
