Perfect location for the city for the days sightseeing. £13.50 for 5 hours plus. You are right beside the castle and Jorvik centre. Nothing is too far away. There's also a toilet block 40p.
Awful place although when I did finally figure out how to pay it was a convenient location hence the 2 stars. The pay station by the loos requires an app. I obediently downloaded it only to find it didn't work. I rang the council number on the board and she said she could give me a phone number so that I could ring the app developer. Oh yeah and how am I to make a note of the number? I asked her if the Q park was better. She said she had never heard of the Q park so I gave up. Was driving out of the car park when I saw another machine that seemed to have card payment. I watched someone else. Entering the£12 quantity I needed is not straightforward. I tried use the key pad initially. Then found the £1 and 10p buttons. It starts at £2.50 so you press the £1 9 times and the 10p five times. Goodness knows what York council are doing with that money. The car park is full of potholes and piles of debris and the pedestrian access back up the ramp is unprotected. Final straw was not being able to go to the loo because I don't carry cash.
We paid in cash which was fine if you have £8 in coins and the machine has room. You have to take care paying online that your tariff covers you for the session you want - we were shopping all day but staying for a show so not leaving till late.
The ticket machine was incredibly hard to use, it cost £7.50 for 2-3 hours!! Or you can save money buying on your phone, but no instructions how to!!!??? The carpark was in dire need of a clean up!!! It was a dreary looking place! Good thing was it had cameras, whether they worked or not I don't know!!
Horrendous trying to pay .. either use app which wouldn't download, no QR code available no choice of using notes if you have no coins handy , had to ring the number on the board who gave another number to ring to finally pay which was successfull , it took us 15 minutes trying to pay . Toilets not open , only thing good about this car park is its close to the center of York
Car park fine, used app to pay. However the toilets are disgusting. 40p to used blocked, over flowing and filthy toilets is a disgrace. What a welcome to York!
Expensive £7 for 3 hrs. £15 for over 5hrs. In a good location for the city. Toilets close at 6pm in summer 5pm in winter. 40p entrance.
Amazing carpark situated along side the river just minutes from the city centre.£15 parking for the day, it's not cheap but very convenient.
Good points are it usually has spaces and easy to get to from the south. Bad points, toilets wrecked and not open despite being pay only so they should be better maintained. RingGo for payment which works for me.
Park my VW transporter campervan in the car park paid for a park ticket and display in windscreen. On return to the car park found a penalty charge notice on windscreen reason for penalty charge not designated for that class of vehicle. The vehicle in question is about the some length 4892mmhas a SUV. I use this vehicle for every day use and for holidays. The vehicle fitted into the packing bay with no problems. Very disappointed with penalty charge
