I would put0 if I could. The doctors are great when you can speak to one which is never because the receptionists are absolutely aweful. They never answer, they’re rude and won’t make appointments over email which is ridiculous when they don’t answer the phone. I think they forget other people also work full time and can’t spend hours on the phone hoping someone will answer. Absolute trash
I was going to see gp as i cant breathe at all from one side of my nose for years and things are bad now as I cant sleep because of that. Doctor checked my nose said nothing major that i need steroid nose spray. I was asking is if I don’t have deviated septum as I cant even do corona test from that side? He said no my nose is straight. My condition didn’t get better. Still can’t breathe and sleep. Going to visit my gp in estonia. She said straight away I have deviated septum and need operation next month. Only positive comments to dr Courts who I had a change to see as well. Lovely dr!
At Southbourne Surgery, I always appreciate the level of care & kindness in the excellent service here from the brilliant, understanding, attentive & efficient reception team through to the professional, considerate, knowledgeable female doctors I am sure the male doctors are great, but I see the female team who always put me at ease & assist through their healing work so well. Always a positive experience. And they do all this under a very busy schedule and a huge variety of client needs. Thank you!
Doctors lovely! Reception/admin staff were NOT empathetic at all. Their kindness within a caring profession lacked professionalism. The excuse for being understaffed does not forgive their cold telephone manner. Poor experience of public health service due to unsuitable employed front of house staff.
Understaffed at times, befuddled, constant to-ing & fro-ing. No loos. Wife offered antidepressants for menopause symptoms. Brilliant.
Rude office staff. Impossible to see a doctor. This practice is a disgrace. This practice has gone from bad to worse since COVID.its time to stop using COVID as an excuse and do the job you are paid to do.
Beware as some of the review below that are good are for the wrong surgery Beaufort and not Southbourne surgery. Had to leave a review as hilariously bed experience. Tried calling to make an appointment for my very unwell child, phone rang and rang. So my husband drove short distance to the surgery whilst staying on the phone to find three receptionists gassing behind the front desk listening to the phone ringing. When my husband asked why no one was answering the phone they were unapologetic and rude and said ‘there were no appointments available’. Surgery is let down by the office/reception staff. Doctors are good when you get to them.
Absolute rubbish surgery! I always have 1 prescription of 2 different strength tablets. Today I’ve gone in to collect them and they’ve given me 2 separate prescription sheets for 3 months worth, I’ve asked reception to get the Dr to combine the prescriptions into 1 prescription and some random foreign Dr has signed off combined for 1 months worth only! NOT acceptable in any way shape or form! When I pay for 3 months worth each time! The receptionists are a waste of time and there’s no practise manager to raise a complaint to! Also you never get to see a Dr face to face when you want to and it’s not even covid anymore! Avoid this surgery at all costs !
A great team of Doctors, unfortunately let down by the reception/admin who seem content to operate in the dark ages. You will rarely/ever get through by phone so be prepared to visit in person when you need an appointment. A simple telephone call management system and/or online booking tool is badly needed. I had to phone 70 times over a 45 minute period to get through…the inefficiency here is bordering on negligent.
I have power of attorney for my sister who has dementia. I rang the surgery on a Monday. It took me 30 minutes before the phone was answered. They then told me to ring back in Wednesday. When I rang on Wednesday they told me to ring back on Friday. It took a call from age Uk to get a dr to ring me. When I went to see the dr, he wouldn’t talk to me and kept talking to my sister who has dementia. I’m not sure what part of dementia he doesn’t understand. He just gave me glares when I tried to talk on my sister’s behalf. Rather than do the review to get her urgent assistance which she needs and deserves he just recommended more tests. He was clearly in a hurry to leave as he was due to finish for the afternoon. Having booked her for the tests I find that it’ll be a whole month before she can get to see him to discuss the test results. This surgery is letting her down badly!
