The pub is famous for most say the best pint of Guinness in Limerick. They now have an evening menu which is keenly priced. We tried the chicken burger, thai prawn curry and the fish and chips. All were delicious, great service and atmosphere. What more can you ask for?
When we were recently visiting Limerick, I insisted on making a stop at South’s Pub where Frank McCourt had his FIRST pint! The service was fantastic and the bartender humoured my enthusiasm with stories from the McCourt days as well as the pubs interesting, rich history. I would highly recommend South’s Pub when visiting Limerick! PS: the church mentioned in Angela’s Ashes is across the road and worth a visit;-
Love this place... Fancy yet down to earth! Apparently have food Wednesday through Sunday with off-menu items on the weekends! tj
Owners of the pub park their luxobarges at the rear in a public lane blocking access to the laneway
Cosy atmosphere, very bright. It's a traditional pub with a touch of modernity. Good to go with the lads and have a pint. Friendly staff and a clean place. Food is lovely. Since I love cocktails I would say that there are not many options on the menu. Still worth a visit!
The staff here are so polite and welcoming. Very relaxing atmosphere and great fun on match days. A real stand out place for service. The food is exceptional and never changes. It always maintains a high standard from soup, wings etc to Salmon & steak/roast. Such a good choice of food. The Guinness is great.
The first ever visit to South's. Welcoming friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Just had a coffey but will definitely return. Loved the place. 5 stars
Best pub in limerick Brilliant owners and staff and the pint of guinness is top class
Love the atmosphere and the staff are lovely, I normally don't eat carvery but I'll always eat it there, food is excellent, especially the bread and butter pudding I ate yesterday, haven't tasted one so good since my grandmother was alive twenty years ago.
Nice convivial atmosphère - pints are nice, coffees, teas etc available. Meals all during week not sure about Mondays but check web. Staff in the evening all seem to know their customers by name have only been there in the evenings. Recommended
