Can't overly fault this pub, front bar is lovely old worldly intimate, great heated smoking area if that's your thing with plenty TV's to watch sport and a great hall out the very back for big events and/or Watching matches on a small cinema sized screen. Only gripe from last visit was that the Guinness was only middling... Not bad but not the best either.
Pizza's are great and plenty of different areas where you can chill have quite chats with mates or other areas where you can watch sports live. Also the live music on a Friday is always brilliant. Excellent and friendly staff alsoFood: 5/5
Was at a party here. Great night had. Bouncers and staff were friendly and helpful. DJ and music was. Only negative was the food order to the table. Although it was Delicious, The host paid for more trays of food than we got resulting in only getting a few items between us. But all in all it was a great night and I'd recommend it to anyone!
Another bar openly participating in age based discrimination, not to mind the power-tripping sadistic bouncers on the door. They let you in one night and the next time turn you away, depending on their mood. They seem to have no problem letting girls who look underage walk right in the door without asking for ID though. One of the bouncers who I didn't say a word to randomly told me he would "drag me out by the scruff" if I caused trouble, as I walked in the door. What a warm welcome to such a fine establishment! I have never caused any trouble anywhere, nor have I ever had any previous interactions with any of these doormen. Disgusting enclosed "smoking area" that doubles as an entrance to the nightclub. Overpriced and overrated. Go somewhere else that actually cares about your business.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Thanks Ciaran and the rest of the staff upstairs in 13 14. Had a really great night there. Free beer playing there on the night, great band, very entertaining.Service: 5/5
If you are thinking of booking this venue to celebrate your birthday, DON'T DO IT! They will do anything to ruin your night! After 1 month negotiating by email a reservation at UPSTAIRS/TOP AREA of 1314 for 01/12 last Saturday, on Wednesday 01/11 I received a phone call AND an email with confirmation for the requested location and date. Arriving at the place of the agreed date, there was another party and other guests at the place, and without any previous communication, I was informed by the manager that they gave PRIORITY to someone else and that AT THAT MOMENT they decided that the place was no longer available for me and the my guests, putting us in any other area they found available, where drunk and inconvenient people made our night inconvenient. second point was that during the same email conversations, I asked if I could bring my own birthday cake. I received a positive answer, but at no time was I informed that we could not use birthday candles or a knife to cut the cake. during the moment when we were all happy singing happy birthday, the security guard rudely and without any conversation or explanation blew out all the candles by himself and started being rude to me and my guests, saying that we are crazy and that we should USE HANDS to cut the cake. WHAT??? There was no conversation, just verbal abuse from the security guard. If you want to have a moment of joy and celebration on an important day in your life, this is definitely not the place. It was the worst birthday celebration ever.
Savage craic was had, as Arnold Schwarzenegger said,"I'll be back." Go on the lads, keep her country as they say in the Wisht. I don't even know which photos to put on this cause I was having such good craic not crack to our American friends Parking: I had no problem with the parking as I sat myself down on a highstool for some nice Guinness and never got clamped and the craic was 90
Great bar with great service, lots of little nooks where you can sit quietly and enjoy a good pint. There's always a game on the TV. Not a bad whiskey selection either. It's hard to beat a Power's John's Lane 12.
We had a great night here on a stag, bouncers in particular stood out as gentlemen, but all staff, food, drink and music were great. Would highly recommend.
The back room was a surprise with how modern it was. Front room is very "old school Irish Bar" while the back is a modern late bar.
