This is the best way we've found to describe what we are trying to do let's compare the concept to a formula 1 racing team.We bring all the experts together in one team to win, i.e. a one stop shop for your health and fitness.

SMB is a universal gym, it has it all. A personal service, great facilities, exceptional trainers and a unique approach to membership - I wouldn't train anywhere else in Newcastle. The staff are never too busy to help, the breadth of knowledge across the training team is exceptional, having helped me achieve multiple goals across various fitness disciplines. The gym caters for everyone, and is great for those on the move with busy lifestyles, from supplying bottled water for workouts to deodorant and mouthwash in the changing rooms, it makes the whole experience unrivaled!

Fantastic gym the trainers are fun but really work you to your limit. I have achieved things I would not have thought possible since joining this gym. Dominic has gone above and beyond to help me prepare to run a marathon and an ultra marathon he always puts the needs of his clients first. I can honestly say my very early mornings at the gym are a great start to the day.

Quite simply this is the Carlsberg Gym! I have trained at various gyms in the area for 35years including Newcastle's so called Premier Gym for 15 years. I thought my fitness levels were good, however after 6 months at SM&B my whole training regime changed, fitness levels and strength increased considerably, my body fat dropped and body shape changed for the better. This was down to a number of personal training sessions with the excellent Dan who made the training hard but fun with great results, and also participating in the gyms excellent HIIT training classes. All the staff are extremely friendly and the gym has a family feel about the place, in particular the personal trainers Dan, Dominic and Ed are approachable, friendly and willing to offer advice on all aspects of training and nutrition. The equipment is excellent and I have never been unable to use a piece of equipment because the gym was too busy, I often train during the day and on occasions I have the gym to myself, it is simply for me the best gym in Newcastle.

An excellent, well-managed gym. The trainers are skilled, knowledgeable and very supportive. In this friendly and fun environment I have moved from coach potato to someone who enjoys a variety of exercise including one to one training, Tabata classes and yoga

I have been a member at SMB for 5 years and trained with Dan. He is totally dedicated to helping his clients achieve their fitness goals and has a brilliant sense of humour which makes the training fun. I have been a member of a several Gym’s and this is the first one that I have consistently attended due to its welcoming and friendly environment.
