The gym is a decent size, classes and instructors are great although watch out as some classes you still have to pay, depending on your membership and everyone has to pay for reformer Pilates regardless of your tier. The club also has modern equipment however, the price just doesn’t match what’s on offer. The air-con seldom works, lots of equipment is at the time of writing out of order, water fountains are luke-warm instead of cold and the car park is a complete nightmare.nnDavid Lloyd unfortunately does everything it can to exploit money out of its customers - I was on a platinum membership which I didn’t need but was told to reduce a tier I’d have to pay more. That in itself goes to show how wild the payment system is. I also know the tier below don’t get towels unless they pay despite any newer joiners paying more than me. I paid £160 a month, so for someone to be paying more than that and not get a towel is pretty disgusting.nnFor the price point everything should always be outstanding, and it just isn’t. I also paid for a PT as part of my wedding prep, granted he’s since left but he was continually late, or on one occasion didn’t turn up at all. I did tell management this and because he’d left nothing was offered as compensation for the £100s I’d wasted being let down by an unreliable PT. In fact I was told they would look into it and then never heard again. Just not good enough I’m afraid, so I’ve decided to take my money elsewhere. The fee is more than I paid in London for a virgin gym. Complete exploitation.
I recently joined the David Lloyd Club and have been very impressed with the quality of all the facilities. The staff are very welcoming and the food is good too.nI have been able to book personal training sessions with Diane and she has given me lots if encouragement and support in reaching my goals.nThe outdoor pool is a real bonus for topping off a workout session with a relaxing swim.
Was a member for a year so experienced both before and after the renovations. Even when the renovations were complete I didn’t feel it was worth the price of the membership fees and from my understanding they rise every year. Joining fees are also extortionate.nI wouldn’t join unless you’re happy with kids running around everywhere. Car park was also a nightmare during peak times.nThe one star is for the staff I couldn’t fault them.
Enjoying coming here on the whole. Had to upgrade my membership to access certain classes etc, it would have been good if these were already included in my current membership but nevertheless, the classes have been good and worth upgrading.
My membership ended 4 months ago and I have been charged every month since despite trying too cancel every month they are terrible at customer service through email and you can’t cancel in person. About 600 pound payed when I couldn’t even use the club as I’d moved away.
