To start with its only fair to say that I love the Harvester brand. I like what it does and I like that I can expect a certain standard whichever venue I eat in. Sadly, after visiting this restaurant on 1/3/23, I will be looking at other options in the future. My party of 6 had booked for 8 o'clock, it was well over an hour after we ordered that the food arrived. Now I appreciate that service was underway and the restaurant had many covers, but not enough to warrant a wait of that duration. Nevertheless, my party and I made good use of the famous salad bar which, when requested, was replenished with fresh items. It's a good job we used the salad bar to supplement our, what can only be described as, awful meal. When our food finally arrived, and I'd like to say thank you to our lovely waiting staff, items were missing, cold or both on each plate. We reported this at the earliest opportunity to the serving staff, who very efficiently, went about getting the missing items. Unfortunately, the wait to receive all the missing items meant that most of the food had gone cold now. At this point the meal was over with 6 very disappointed people still pretty hungry. It's now an hour and 45 minutes after our booking started. We were waiting to speak to the manager, who was clearly busy with other customers, to voice our concerns. It would seem that there were many issues within the restaurant that evening. We spoke to the manager when she was free, unfortunately I didn't get her name, who handled our complaint calmly and professionally. Clearly this was not the first and I'm presuming not the last complaint of this nature that evening. The manager and the serving team were lovely and completely let down by the kitchen staff. How food was allowed to leave the kitchen with items missing and more importantly, at an unsafe temperature is unacceptable and needs to be addressed immediately. It's a real shame because in this era of getting good value for money, food wastage and cost of living, Harvester let themselves down immensely. Thanks to an excellent host who wrote our bill of over £130 off, it was greatly appreciated as was your apologies. I hope Harvester get this right for all customers and staff who have to endure these experiences.
Evening meal with hubby. Food was just ok. Chicken had no flavor and the ribs didn't have much sauce, the food was hot and I was hungry so I ate it. Are server Ralph was attentive, well spoken, and happy to help.
We had an amazing time, very impressed with hygiene, food, and service, a special thank you to Natalie, our server, who made our meal enjoyable and was very helpful due to allergies and made a long due meal remarkable memorable. Food was excellent and ambience was great. Thank you for the front house staff for the seat adjustment being able to sit by the pond, thank you all. Kid-friendliness: Great place to visit with children nice pond feature for children to enjoy. Dietary restrictions: Very well adjusted to all diearty restrictions great job.
We had breakfast/lunch @ Snuff Mill Harvester Bristol! I would not recommend! I had build your own breakfast, and everything was "burned to death",not grilled! The other meal was pork belly, again " burned to death " Both dishes came out like charcoal! The server ask everything is alright with the meals?I said no is nothing is alright because is burned! But we will eat it, because we hungry, and we waited a long for the food! Even the server said, sorry for the wait!!! Anyway nothing was offered to "make it right", Or to compensate! I would NOT recommend that place!!! And the person who cooked those meals, shouldn't calling him or herself a chef!!!! Harvester should look for a new head chef!!!
First time going out to a Harvester since before 2019. Decided to go back for my wedding anniversary meal. First off greeted by a man who was really pleasant, then our server Sarah P was pleasant, helpful and very friendly and made the anniversary meal a truly memorable one. The table was clean, the food was well presented and cooked perfectly, salad bar was cleaned and stocked with fresh items. Chocolate fudge cake to die for... As we were leaving much later the gentleman remarked have a lovely anniversary which ended the night perfectly. Truly five star service.
Great place to take the kids as the large pond feature kept mine entertained throughout. Food is consistently decent, but word of warning: watch out for the burgers! Quite often double patties are the standard. A bit intimidating when it arrives if you didn't notice before ordering.
Went here as a last minute before the wedding day meal. Being Christmas space was limited, but we were well looked after by a very young member of staff. The lad was amazing and took some playful batter from us. He added to the evening atmosphere and made it fun. As a vegetarian and gluten-free, my options were limited, but the meal was very pleasant, and I even got to have chocolate fudge cake as it was gluten-free. It was such a pleasant experience for all of us.
This is the first time I can honestly say, this was one of the most unpleasant experiences we have had in a very long time. I always rate this restaurant very highly. The menu was limited due to "the fryer not working" as we were told repeatedly, the staff didn't once come and ask us how our food was. My partner had to send his entire plate back as everything was stone cold, no apology from the sour faced server. My partner has also reviewed and the response was that things will be reviewed, not good enough I'm afraid. Will not be returning. Very disappointed overall, such a shame!!!
Despite visiting this restaurant on many occasions, this evening was very disappointing. Upon arrival we were informed that some items on the menu were unavailable due to supply issues. When we came to order our food we had to make alternative choices to what we hoped to have, no fish or prawns available. So we went for a steak and a chicken combo dish. Service was rather slow. When our mains arrived they were cold. We sent them back hoping they would be heated up to a better temperature. When they came back they were hotter and duely eaten. We were quite surprised that there were no senior staff members during our visit. It seemed the junior staff were just there hoping for an easy shift and not concerned about delivering quality service to customers. Overall a disappointing experience for my partner and myself on this occasion. Will need to consider if and when we should return.
Awesome service and Great food; The food was simply the best, all cooked to perfection, asked for well done and it came out first time perfect. Clare the waitress was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much hassle, happy and chatty. We travel a distance to come here but this one is the best in the south west !!Recommended dishesSalad Cart, Onion Rings, Rotisserie Chicken, Full Rack of Ribs, Mix Grill
