The Spotted Cow
"The Spotted Cow is situated on North Street in the heart of Southville and Bedminster. We aim to provide a quality community pub serving up great food, drinks, and music. The pub also benefits from a large walled garden to the rear which is a great suntrap and a perfect oasis to escape from the city."

Fantastic pub! Food is exceptional pub grub. Chicken pasta was delicious and the pasta was homemade which really made a difference. Macaroni was also delicious as it had a punchy cheese flavour. This dish is hard to get right in a restaurant and they smashed it! Sausage and mash was comforting and very much enjoyed. Wine is tasty and reasonable a nice French White only £19!. The atmosphere in here is always warm and inviting.
Looks great! But unfortunately staff wasn’t wearing masks, specially indoors! Very disappointed! That is very disappointing nowadays! We came back around 10 months later, as the garden really attracts us! We got there and it was a bit odd, nobody came talk to us! We approached the bar and they explained that if we wanted to sit outside there wasn’t any table service. So far so good. It was sunny and beautiful! Our starters came with our food, although that was actually my fault because they don’t advertise as starters I believe they do that to save some work. The food arrived and the person who brought started moaning claiming he wouldn’t know how to bring the rest of the food since he only had 2 hands. That was very odd, the obvious answer would be to come back as many times as it was needed or even grabbing a tray. Also he said we could already start eating, although we did not have any cutlery, and some of it required cutlery. Anyways he came back with the rest, forgot our cutlery and we had to ask someone else. I do believe this person was training, but that was not a kind nor welcoming hospitality service we would have expected. Aside from that food as ok. In summary They can afford to do that, since they have such a great garden. I hope that helps.
Recommend a Sunday roast here! Lovely service and ambience with candles on every table, and the meat, roast potatoes, gravy, and fresh vegetables were cooked beautifully. They also had two very filling veggie options. It gets quite cold in there, so dress warm, but everywhere’s absolutely freezing these days anyway. Their mulled cider will warm you up!
Fantastic Pub, so cosy, Great vibes at Christmas. great Drinks, food was Delicious
Really nice to have a drink with with friends, not really suggested for a meal. I have been here for a Sunday roast, and I didn't particularly enjoyed. The beef was hard, the sides weren't the best. Service was average. But I liked the location, nice garden outside to enjoy on sunny days
It's a great place for meeting up with large and small groups of friends alike, with an outside area even bigger than its already large indoors. As well as seating, the outside also features a range of table styles, and cover from the sun and/or rain. This is also where me and my wife who I've now been with for almost 8 years first met, so it'll always be a special place to me
Quality pub, service is friendly. There's a decent beer garden at the back. Interior decor is smart looking. Pubs well maintained.
Great staff and good food shame about one guy who tried to ruin the experience for us. Thankfully the issue was dealt with by staff and they were extremely apologetic about it - not their fault! Thank you for a lovely Xmas meal!
Lovely pub and one of the best outside areas too. I've only tried the classical pub food here but would definitely recommend.
Quiet when I arrived here late lunchtime on a wet Wednesday, but having eaten elsewhere, I wish I hadn't. This establishment has a sophisticatedly decorated interior in grey and cream with black vinyl settles, an interesting menu and six real ale hand pumps all accredited with the Cask Marque certificate. The atmosphere also is more refined and salubrious.
