"A gorgeous dog friendly pub nestled in the heart of the unspoilt Sussex countryside near the infamous Bluebell Railway, serving fresh food all sourced locally. The wine list comprises of over 40 wines from the old and new world as well as local Sussex wines. Two fires make this a cosy winter spot and a large garden with outdoor bar and kitchen welcomes guests in the summer months."

Beautiful large garden area with shade. Good selection of draught larger. Food served but I only stayed for a drink. Short walk north to a Bluebell Railway crossing just West of Sheffield Park
We stopped in this lovely pearl while cycling from London to Brighton. It was lunchtime and we got a couple of shandy beers, some cauliflower with truffle and cheese, and some chips. We settled outside. Awesome location, the staff was friendly, and the food great!
Food was lovely. Staff were attentive and all went lovely. But for a group of 12, it was far to cramped and squashed up so much it was very difficult to eat. Otherwise great if your in a smaller group.
Great place for lunch. Lovely staff - food was delicious- recommended.
Had an amazing meal here with friends. Food was top quality and prices were comparable to elsewhere with a similar quality. Service was good, waitress was polite & friendly. We came here over 12 MTH ago when the new owner had just arrived. Sadly, at the point they didn't quite have it right. Food temp etc. So glad that we came back and will definitely be coming back.
Super, freshly cooked food. With suprising original touches. I had pickled herrings last night, for starter, delicious. My partner had state wing for main, loved it. Didn't have pud. The service was with a smile, well worth a visit. Would definitely return.
I went to The Sloop today with my son. I had a Sunday roast which was nice, but nothing special for the price £20.50. My son’s meal was a very small portion of pasta. The only dessert option on the kids menu was icecream which he didn’t want, but I still had to pay £10. But the biggest rip off was the Coke Zero, from the pump, which was £3.95 for a pint We won’t be back, especially after 2 lovely visits to The Snowdrop and The Rainbow in the last month. Such a shame as this is a nice walk from our home.
We heard really good things from friends who had eaten here so went with two other couples for a birthday meal. Excellent food and service! Will definitely come again
Ordered a steak that specified it would be cooked pink. Arrived very well done. The chef massacred that poor boy. The accompanying chips were mediocre, and in short supply. The Strawberry Romanoff ordered for dessert was missing the cream, which is like bangers and mash arriving without the mash. They are charging premium prices for very average at best food with small portions.
We had a very pleasant lunch here with the very accommodating staff especially as we had 3 large deerhound and a labrador/alsatian cross with us... The garden looks good for summer.
