One of my favourite restaurants in London, I had to take my friend there for her birthday. They kindly saved a window seat for us so we could oggle the views. The service is always great here. Might be a little slow when busy but friendly and happy to assist if you ask. The food is always exemplary and the cocktails are out of this world.
We went for the gin tasting experience with lunch and had an amazing time. Sunshine, view over the river.. Food and service were excellent. Gin experience was brilliant more than we could manage and drinks could have been smaller, a real treat and well delivered by the barman. We left very happy! Highly recommendedFood: 5/5
Skylon is one of those places you've walked past several times without noticing it until you actually go there. Located inside the south bank centre, there are several way to the restaurant. They have their own dedicated side entrance or you could enter it via the centre. The food might look boring but they were very tasty and delicouse, and I didn't expect that the basic chicken thighs would actually be good. The venue has this long ceiling which tends to the noise. So it gets noises the more you drink. I was a bit late to the brunch but when I got there, there were no menu so when I ordered a Coke, I assume it would be the normal ish price not £5 per bottle, and they were the I'm a ones. The staff were great and proactive, and since I was late i was not sure if my friend ordered for me so I ordered my food. Then one of the staff came to me and said that my friend already ordered and that he cancelled the one I just did. Except for the price of the coke, I had a great time at the restaurant. Vegetarian options: There are options for vegetarian but they are not what you can considered vegetarian dish. Kid-friendliness: Yes.. Parking: Around southbank there are not a lot of paid parking. There is a parking area 10 min away Wheelchair accessibility: Yes wherlchair access. There is elevator on both side inside the centre that would take you to the same level as the restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Best to call behind and arrange something with the restaurant.
Came here for my birthday with a virgin day voucher for a drinks flight and bar snack for two. Was an enjoyable experience, lots of wines to taste and a nice platter to share. The voucher was good value for money but didn’t allow for optimum experience of the restaurant. The views are great and the atmosphere is nice, good for a date night.
Maryam at the front desk / reception was awesome. Great warm welcome. I was underwhelmed by the food and service. It was rather basic for its prices and the hype I was given by my concierge. I ordered fish and chips which was good but rather basic. The view is spectacular.
The views are nice, but its big and noisy and therefore you won't get enough attention from the staff.. Food was good, however portions are quite small understandable when it is a set menu. Overall good experience, but not a place that I'd choose to go back to. Note: it is a bit difficult to find it if you're going to use GPS.. It also doesn't have any obvious sign that shows you where it is, the sign is too small and you have to have great attention to be able to spot it.
My husband and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary somewhere special so after checking the nicest restaurants in the area very close to the London Eye we chose Skylon. The place is okay, we got a table by the window. We asked for oysters as a starter but -only 20 mins later- were told they were not available so we just said okay let’s just go for the mains. Despite ordering to a first waiter, a few mins later a second waiter came to take the order. We ordered a beef fillet with fries and a ribeye steak with mashed potatoes the first waiter said we can swap fries with mashed potatoes, the second waiter said we can’t; after all they could but just put it as a side of the wrong steak. We asked to get the fillet cooked rare but it wasn’t rare at all well cooked. Anyway the food was okay but not outstanding. Then we ordered desserts and those were pretty good. Overall, though, I don’t think it’s a restaurant worth spending £134 two people, main and dessert and one glass of white wine.
Good customer service. Very accommodating. Food is just okay. Atmosphere is okay overlooking the water. Nice cocktails. Would definitely return for a happy hourFood: 3/5
A wonderful restaurant on the south bank, the bottomless Prosecco was definitely worth it, the food was delicious and the Prosecco was definitely free flowing. The service was good. Would come back here again
Skylon is a fantastic restaurant and bar with great views and great service. We started at the bar where the the amazing bar staff served us with some fantastic cocktails and champagne. We then proceeded for dinner at the Grill. The food was excellent value for money and tasted delicious. Special shout out to the excellent management team, Naresh, and front of house, Dory. I will be back very soon. A great place for drinks and dinner.
