We had dinner in this restaurant for ten nights in a row due to business agreements and tried almost everything. I must say that we really appreciated all of it. The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly and kind and the live music is great. We do suggest it to anyone.Recommended dishes
Breakfast while staying in Castle Hotel above. Old cellars are unique although a little damp in back cellar. Waited 10 mins from being seated by host before a server came to say he would find someone to take our order for a full Irish breakfast. Staff caught up after that as 2 out of three tables were not visited until the shake up. Coffee was good, meal ok. Fried tomatoe mentioned on menu was served as a cut 1/4 slice raw tomatoe and the black pudding was missing but we did not want it anyway so did not follow up.
Very disappointing. I know it’s tough for everyone with service staff these days but there were so many mistakes it was beyond comical. The host seated another group before us, put us at a high top for dinner. Waited 45 minutes for a pint of Guinness. Another party just sat down at our table thinking that it was a bar area and then were quite surprised that they had joined us for dinner. Dinner was bland and uninspiring. Music was fine. This was a Tuesday night, not a weekend. When it was time to pay the wifi wasn’t working so had to wait longer. Lovely setting but staff is completely overwhelmed and undertrained. Best wishes
Me and my wife stayed at the castle hotel which is above the castle vault. We happened to stop by the pub on our way back to our room. There was a musician by the name Mick Dunne. He was fabulous! We had an absolutely fabulous time listening to him. He said he is there almost every Tuesday. If you are in Dublin and what a great pub experience with some absolutely awesome tunes...check out this place!
The most disappointing experience. The food was awful, the place smelled of old bleach, and it is well overpriced Don't be misled by the photos. I had to ask for the receipt which was given to me reluctantly. Only the waitress was nice.
Lovely hotel and atmosphere but the food was flavourless and quite overpriced with regards to its quality. We were a party of three and all ate different dishes, and, unfortunately, all of them were disappointing.

While staying at the Castel Hotel, we took advantage of the restaurant and we were really satisfied. Nice friendly staff great food with great background live music.Food: 5/5
I can't believe I posted the photos and forgot to write the review. Let's correct the error. The pub is located under the hotel and is a great choice, not just if you are a hotel guest. It also has an advantage and that is that you can dine in a previous room so that you can eat with children without going into the pub. The pub itself is cosy, well priced and there is live music. What more could you want?
