At Skosh we serve food in the form of snacks and small plates, allowing you to have as little or as much as you want in a comfortable setting.

Story

Skosh started simply, as a word that represented a concept. It has evolved into a contemporary dining room in York serving uncomplicated yet refined food, matched with wines and beverages that are served in a comfortable and informal manner.

At Skosh we serve food in the form of snacks and small plates, allowing you to have as little or as much as you want, grazing as you go or, if you prefer, gradually served course by course to give you a complete dining experience.

Chef proprietor Neil Bentinck and his team of local tradesmen and designers reimagined the space of this Grade II listed building and arranged a bespoke dining room and open plan kitchen to open in May 2016.

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. I cant fault anything. The food was amazing and all of it equally as good, impossible to pick a favourite dish. The service was great as well. If you are a table of two I recommend sitting up the kitchen as I enjoyed watching what the chefs were doing and seeing all the other dishes. Can't wait to go back very soon
Skosh serves up modern fusion cuisine. The food is well-thought out and tastes amazing with great flavour combination. I am very happy with the standard of food during my visit and the price is very reasonable for the quality you get - some dishes are in fact Michelin-star standard. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating.
Fantastic restaurant. Food beautifully presented but more importantly incredible tastes, textures and combinations. Staff extremely attentive. It was a fabulous evening. BBQ Tandoori pigeon skewers and potato cubes with yuzu butter were the highlights but all dishes fabulous
A special evening enjoying the great work of Chief Neil and his team spoiling us with great food. I would just say that they could do with one more wait staff but that takes nothing away from the food quality and fantastic value for money. Don’t hesitate to go here and enjoy this delectable treat!
What a fabulous restaurant! Friendly and great tasting food that looks as good as it taste. Every dish we have ordered were so amazing! When I have a chance to come back to York again, this place would definitely be on my list! Love it!! Do book well in advance to avoid any disappointment.

Absolutely stunning! Fabulous service and food to die for. You must try the Hens eggs, kuri kare pan and celeriac!!! Superbly priced too, for two of us to eat circa 10 plates of food and 5 drinks totalled £125. We were expecting to pay double that for what we got, no wonder this place is booked up months in advance. If we come back to York we will 100% return.
Had 6 portions with one dessert. They’re delicious and well-prepared. The prices are reasonable comparing to the dishes. I really loved the octopus one and the dessert. The only negative thing I might say is that having too many dishes with different tastes would make the experience less enjoyable and confusing.
Amazing food and staff, we were very impressed. Had 6 dishes between 2 of us and it was plenty. Unique menu and style would recommend.
Wow! Difficult to put into words how completely amazing the food in Skosh is. Excellent service, fantastic sounding menu, you'd think you were in one of the biggest cities in the world with the interesting flavour combinations. And the food... Dear god. Hens egg and cheese mousse, fried chicken and caviar, the most amazing lamb belly I've ever had... Just stunning. Well done Skosh, we'll be back!!
