Been today for the first time - I had a large carvery chose beef the food tasted amazing and the beef was cooked to perfection, my husband had steak, chicken and cheese fondue - the steak was cooked as he liked, the chicken strips were tasty and would definitely come back! Would recommend this pub!.
We have been a lot of times. Firstly, the car park is plenty big enough. Weekdays it's fairly quiet but the carvery is only on until 2.30 then reopens at 4.30 so don't come in the middle if you want carvery, we have forgot a few times. Weekends it's super busy, both in the restaurant and the play area. It's good prices, not too bad for steak, fish and chips, gammon, lasagne - but veggie options there is a meat free burger, halloumi fries and bang bang cauliflower. Being a veggie and not having carvery can be pretty disappointing. There is lots of drinks available, I'd say they're on the pricey side of things but everything is going up. There are kids drinks from squash or milk to slush. I will note, if ordering a slush bring your own metal or reusable straw as your straw will disintegrate. There is a wacky warehouse. Its pretty small and not a lot to do in it, but I'd say if your kids like enclosed twirly slides and punch bags they will love it. There are 2 permanent Ball pools and a separate space for under 2s. I've included pictures of the 3 areas. You can buy a monthly or 6 monthly pass for the wacky and visit many of them around South yorkshire. We have found a few better than here, but this is the closest so most convenient. They do a tots club which include painting sticking and gluing, this is on during kids being at school, but great for preschoolers or homeschooling children. There are pub tables in the wacky side, which honestly is great.
Just had my daughters party at wacky warehouse the staff was fantastic the management went above and beyond to errect a balloon arch for my daughter the 3 young girls who work in the wacky warehouse side were fab always checking if we are ok keeping me upto date when when the food was coming etc etc would book again
I read the reviews before eating at this place for the first time... A few bad ones but I didn't experience what others did... The atmosphere was nice even though it was busy... The staff were friendly and I would definitely eat here again. The carvery was delicious and reasonably priced... Same time next week...
Very poor. I had veggie burger didn't want onion rings so asked for salad instead. Didn't get salad just the burger and chips. Burger was in a bun that was twice the size of the meat! My wife had hunters chicken she asked for salad instead of onion rings. She got her salad. It was brown! Brother in law had curry that was like a ready meal. Sister in law had carvery which was average. Avoid.
Family dinner with my mam, dad, sister and my two kids. Had fish, chips, mushy peas. The fish was absolutely delicious and would recommend it. The chips and mushy were lovely too. The Millionaires cheesecake was very tasty. Would recommend Sir Jack and will visit again for dinner
The guy who ran it was great. Really welcoming and helpful and made us want to go back again. The food was nice too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the food took a while to come. But it was still nice
Excellent... It's a proper Sth Yorkshire pub
Had a great time at Sir Jack's today. Had a few nice pints then topped it off with a Double Burger and chips with Onion rings which went down a treat!! Good food and comfortable surroundings.
We came here while travelling - couldn't recommend it highly enough. The staff were lovely, the food was excellent best pie I've had in a long time! and reasonably priced, the music was good but not too loud. Just a shame they're not closer to where we live
