We haven't ate here for a long while and we were so disappointed when we visited october 26th , we are Avid steak lovers and ordered 2 T Bone steaks , one medium one medium rare , the table decorations are old and tired which kind of sets the scene for the rest of the meal , the meals arrived ...we had overcooked oven chips! and steaks that may not have even been put on the grill at all , safe to say we won't be rushing back!

Nice friendly and dog friendly too.the food was lovely too.for a Wednesday lunch time it was busy-ish  but there wasn't really too long wait for the food

Beautiful food, friendly and quick service with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and so lovely that the kids food looked great too! Usually my daughter leaves any bread with burgers as kids meals always seem a bit of a cheap after thought, but she ate everything on her plate and told me how much she enjoyed it.  Thank you!

Pretty disappointed as this is the third time bad food has been served to me, I choose to come here and spend my money but the food was inedible. Please see photos and make your own minds up. Beautiful pub, great location, nice staff but when I am hungry and get let down multiple times unfortunately I have to be honest. I tried contacting them weeks ago to resolve without leaving a review but unfortunately I was ignored. The food was not cooked and over priced for what it is. Sorry guys but I am not sure what is going on in that kitchen. The amount of flour on the base of the soggy pizza put me off my pint and I left within minutes.

Christmas Dinner exceeded our expectations both good and service.  Generally we love Christmas dinner at home and we’re cautious about going out but we will definitely be back next year.  The menu was very good with plenty of choice I struggled to choose.

Food is lovely, worthy of 5 stars, however the pub is let down by how cold it is, it’s not cheap in there and you expect to enjoy you’re meal without having to sit in your coat absolutely perished and shivering! There is an open fire which should be kept fully stocked and roaring but we had to ask multiple times for assistance for someone to get it going again. Won’t be going back until at least spring!

Stopped off here for lunch whilst working in the area. VERY Dog friendly!! Great food, great service by Louise there.  Would definitely recommend for day or evening visit from my experience!!

I went on Christmas day and have been before on Christmas day pre Covid. Last time was above lovely. This time the staff were lovely but the food was below standard. I still gave a tip because the waiting staff and restaurant ambience was good but it was supermarket food that was warmed up. I will still go to the Golden Ball but never pay £160 for 2 ever again. Terrible.

Called with a group of friends for lunch, the appearance is good warm, and nicely done out, not much of a welcome but possibly due to little or no staff. We ordered Turkey pie, and gammon with egg, it was very average, my eggs were overdone as was the gammon, turkey pie crust underdone. This is a dog friendly pub, we decided to leave when a punters arrived with a couple of dogs that barked non stop. I won’t be going back
