Stopped for lunch whilst on long journey north. Friendly efficient staff. Extensive menu. Had Roasted Veg soup, delicious.

Excellent food, had the haggis starter yummy, followed by macaroni cheese / hot smoked salmon & peas linguine. Again awesome food. Plus St Andrews ale got to be a must, if not driving of course. 😊

Well what can I say except what a fantastic experience. Stopped in Jedburgh on our way to the Out Hebrides with my partner. The staff all went out of their way to help. Having a disease where I have so many dietary requirements makes it difficult. Nothing seemed to be a problem and Karen actually prepared me a meal not on the menu and to top it off had just cooked the most delicious courgette and lime cake. On our way back home I needed some more cake. Amanda and Yvonne made arrangements with the butchers opposite as they would be closed and left cake with them. Such amazingly kind lovely people at Simply Scottish. Terry said his steak pie was delicious xx

Entering the cafe we were barked at by the manager/owner (?) to find a seat and someone would be over to take our order, after getting seated and looking through the menus we waited for someone to come over and kept a look out to catch the eye of one of the members of staff stood talking behind the counter doing the best not to do their jobs it looked like. Eventually the manager/owner came over and took our order all while managing to look thoroughly disinterested and not actually saying a word other than "it'll be a little while". 40 minutes or so after entering the cafe our drinks arrived (two coffees and an orange juice, nothing complicated), followed by another 20 minute wait for a few scones.
