We had Saturday lunch and were able to sit inside with a view without having booked. It’s a really awesome atmosphere and great location on the water, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food had nice flavour, though sandwich Cobb bread was a bit hard so not great of sensitive teeth. Loos were clean, and there was a parking lot just over the bridge a mere few minute walk.
Very nice interior and location, with lovely harbour views. Food was only okay - the buns on all the burgers our table ordered were very dry and a bit stale. It took a long time for our orders to be taken and to get our food, but the service was friendly and there were two big tables seated just before us. I'd visit again for the venue but wouldn't rush back to eat.
Went there early on a Friday eve. The place was quiet. The atmosphere was cosy and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a fish burger. The fish was lovely. Really enjoyed it. My partner has the fried chicken burger which he did not enjoy as much.
Tasty roast, unfortunately they were out of beef when we arrived so we both had chicken. Chicken was a large portion and everything was tasty. Would not recommend adding the cauliflower cheese, while it was nice it was a small portion for the extra money. Pub has beautiful views and nice beer too. Nice lunch out
Great British style pub menu, we had flat iron steak and the steak and tanglefoot pie followed with chocolate orange torte and Eton mess, both were amazing. Lovely views over looking the harbour and our server Lewis was friendly, attentive and couldn't do enough to make our dining a pleasure! Stsff such as he and the quality of food on the menu are hard to find in tandem these days so we'll definately be back for more.
Lovely friendly pub & restaurant, dogs welcome. Food is reasonably priced, good quality and food cooked perfectly. I had the seared pork chop on butterbean stew, broccoli, crispy chorizo and crushed new potatoes, husband had the flat iron steak with all the trimmings both were lovely.
Super friendly staff and great location! We had a Sunday roast and it was so tasty, really big portions too and you can ask for a takeaway bag. Honestly the pub itself is lovely and I have no complaints. Also we were slightly late to our booking and I gave them a call to let them know and they didn’t have a problem with it.
This was a pre-Christmas work do and we had hoped to have the Christmas menu. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication, we ended up on the normal menu. The staff were lovely and gave us some crackers anyway! The menu was a little restricted possibly due to the need to manage the Christmas menu too, but was well curated and offered a good range of traditional and more creative options. The waitress didn't bat an eyelid at my odd request to have a main made up of starters, and the mushroom tacos, hummus and chicken wings were really tasty. My colleagues had a variety of other choices. The Pie was very good, apparently, and the Fish and Chips that came out looked like it could feed a small family. Puddings were also excellent. I chose a vegan salted caramel ice cream, which was amazing but the brownie and the sticky toffee pudding all looked incredible. The food and service was definitely 5 star but I felt bar drinks were very pricey and actually discouraged us from drinking what we might have. To be fair, this may just be the norm now but it felt really expensive buying a round compared to previous years. All in all, we'll worth a visit and I hope to go back after Christmas to see what else is on offer.
I came down for lunch with friends and had a superb hake and crab fishcake with chunky chips. Delicious. Washed down with a couple of pints of perfectly kept Badger Best Bitter. Really excellent serving staff and a great atmosphere in the pub. I hadn't been in for a while and had forgotten what a cracking pub this is!
Very comfortable environment with good background music and friendly, efficient staff. Good pint of Guinness !
