The Red Lion is one of mine and my families favourite pubs in Weymouth, and we continue to go back everytime we visit. They have a brilliant selection of drinks, including local ales, and the food is incredible. We had the Seafood Trawler Board, between three of us, on our most recent trip and it was the highlight of our week. Beautiful fresh fish and all prepared to perfection. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, and very easy to chat to. The atmosphere in the Quay is also lovely, and we were lucky to have some live classical violin music one night, which really made the evening.
A truly delightful pub, with a fantastic atmosphere, decor and a big heart. Lovely selection of food and drink especially rum and a roaring fire and candles. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks available, and the pub is spotless. When they are not serving they are cleaning. Made to feel thoroughly welcome. A truly brilliant pub, if we lived locally it would be our go to place without question!!
The Red Lion is one of those perfect pub spots. Opened in 1851, it feels like you step in to a hidden spot where time has frozen. Go for a pint and you’ll spend half the time looking at all the history and decoration on the walls. The other half will be having a lovely conversation with the welcoming staff whom don’t even give an ounce of superficiality! The drinks options are exceptional with local pints on draught. We haven’t tried the food yet but from what we have seen, we are very looking forward to when we do. Don’t change at all Red Lion!
We went there on a recommendation, but our experience was disappointing. Just over an hour's wait on a quiet night in a cold pub for a watery curry and a fish pie. While I understand that the kitchen 'had some issues' on the night, I think we should have been informed of this when they took our order or at some time while we waited. The fish pie was good, but it was a very poor effort overall on the night.
Brilliant pub! Former tap room of old Devenish Brewery next door. Retains older aspects of the building whilst providing an up dated ambience, sensitivity done. Beer is extremely well looked after and the food is diverse and fabulous. Go, and be un-disappointed!!
Nice pub with good range of drinks available and excellent food menu. The private cabins out front are great for groups when the pub is busy.
Nice position behind the main quay side in a small square with museum opposite opens thurs to sunday Character Old fashioned pub with plenty of seating outside . Food availability Didnt find front of house staff very welcoming as watched when other people arrived.
Without a doubt the rudest staff I have ever encountered. Will genuinely snatch full drinks out of your hand without explanation. Disgusting behaviour. Do not recommend. One pleasant lady behind the bar and couldn't fault her and her friendliness/politeness.
Cosy pub with good range of drinks and decent food. We often use it but tend to avoid during busy holiday times - it gets rammed and the staff struggle. Always popular.
Nice pub Friendly staff Arrived early to get a seat and have Sunday lunch But couldn’t order Sunday lunch until 13:00 Then got told to wait another 10 mins So we gave up and ate somewhere else
