We popped in while waiting for friends and as they were running late we decided to have lunch. We both ordered the ploughmans as it sounded quite nice on the menu. The course paté smelt like dog food and the salad was horrible and soggy. The cheeses were alright but nothing fancy. It also came on a horrible wooden board! Its a shame that some of these seaside pubs think it's ok to pass off cheap quality food at quite high prices.
Great service, great food. Dog friendly
Went for lunch it was discussting three of us had fish chips and peas the peas were hard and tasty awfull the fish was full of bones . My grandson actually had a large bone in his mouth . Hence to say we left nearly all the meals and it was nearly £38 pounds . Dont even bother going there
Monday we came for food and so that my daughter could play in the play area, she loved it. We ordered our food and drinks, food came but my mums dinner had chips instead of potatoes etc but was easily rectified by the lady who brought them to us. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, was a but too runny for my liking but was still nice. I thought it wasn't worth the £9 odd I spent for it. Chips were nice and crispy and hot. My dad enjoyed the steak and ale pie. Nice and cool inside, clean and tidy.
Great play area for kids. Only 50p for half and hour, which is great value for money. Went here first think after a five hour drive to Weymouth so my daughter could burn off some stream while we had a coffee and caught up with our family.
Awful! Been coming here every time we come to Weymouth, it has certainly changed to what used to be,, a fantastic place to drink. Drinks have become very expensive. The manager seems to have no real customer service experience, go to the bar and all you get is what do you want in quite an abrupt tone. Seems to have lost its friendly atmosphere also. Won't be going back!!!
The New Vic is a fantastic bar and restaurant, the staff are very friendly and are very good at remembering there locals. The food is fantastic, they have a great variety for both adults and kids. They have a great play area for the kids. They also have live music on Fridays and the weekend.
Myself and Tony my husband had our wedding reception at The New Vic Bar on Saturday 8th June 2019 and we would like to thank Elliott,Dee and all their staff for all their efforts and support in making our day special. The food was perfect and all of our guests were very happy with their meals. The venue was decorated really nicely in our colour scheme of grey pink and white. We had complete privacy from the bar at the front as screens were put across whilst we were eating our meal. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding reception at would certainly recommend The New Vic Bar. Elliott and his team will definitely look after you and make your day special.
Great spacious restaurant, friendly staff, very clean toilets. Went for a lunch in a group with kids, food came quickly and was very hot, I had the chicken baguette, cider and some chips, very reasonably priced, would recommend
Great beer and kids are welcome, it even has a supervised soft play area. The manager is very friendly and accommodating, making the whole visit thoroughly enjoyable
