It's always my last stop whenever I'm in Sheffield. So convenient location right next to main station entrance. Best place to wait for a train with a drink. As our train was late so last chance to have a drink. Always serving good selection of beers. Good staff team and quick service because they know people wanna catch up trains. Always get same great atmosphere one thing which never change. I would recommend this place.
Great little rest stop if changing trains! Absolutely huge selection to choose from! Bar team very knowledgeable too, which is great! Recommended if you've got 30+ minutes to kill in Sheffield Station.Service: 5/5
Always a great way to start any trip to Sheffield. Great range of beers including those they brew on site.Service: 5/5
Well what a nice place to change trains. Good selection of beers on hand pump and Keg. Going to be something for everyone. Well almost not seen any fosters in here. LOL Seems quite friendly, even passengers chatting about the beer.
An incredible bar; the back room is the Sheffield drinking-scene’s answer to the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles and isn’t to be missed; resplendent with chandeliers, seating reminiscent of the House of Lords or perhaps the Midland Railway, brewing-equipment and unsurprisingly- mirrors. There’s a vast array of beer on tap. It is a little pricey and can be busy, but you get what you pay for I suppose. Certainly the nicest and warmest place to wait for a train on the otherwise culturally desolate Sheffield station.
Wonderful spacious bar wyty several rooms including area with brewery equipment on view. Great selection of beers including Thornbridge'a own beers. Can be very busy but highly recommended.Service: 5/5
An on platform station brewpub with a great selection of beers and a very sympathetically restored bar with Grecian architecture which creates a special atmosphere. Coming through Sheffield quite a lot recently, it’s always a pleasure to stop off at this lovely Good Beer Guide listed venue for an hour or two whilst waiting for connecting trains. There are quite a few compartments/joining rooms to the back and side of the bar, so it’s easy to find a quiet spot to wait time, although on Saturdays it does tend to get busy. The beers - usually around 10 casks at peak times, and the same amount in keg form, plus ciders, and an extensive bottles and can range - are served in great condition and cover a wide range of styles from pale ales to stouts to sours and other more interesting concoctions. Thornbridge is typically represented in the line up, as are the operators, Tapped Brew Co., but guest breweries are plentiful and the line up rotates often. Staff are friendly and warn you if the price of a pint is significantly more than you would normally expect to pay which is possible with some of the more limited edition or hop forward beers. Generally, I found the cask ales to be £4.50-£5.50/pint, but the keg could be up to £8 for a 5% abv. Absolutely recommended to stop off for a refreshing beverage if you are in Sheffield or changing trains there.
Large station pub in Sheffield. Plenty of beers to choose from, including many foreign ones. Prices can be high. Plenty of seating inside And it's needed, as it gets very busy during peak hours, plus a number of covered tables on the outside towards the city. Not the most charming pub to be sure, but it can be attractive for adventurous drinkers.
This was a great pub to visit before catching my train, with a throwback design including the counter and pub logo. The staff were friendly and served me quick; I had a refreshing pint of Berry Cider! Prices were a bit much, although the seating and table were up to standards.
Great architecture, wide variety of excellent beers. This is the second time I have been and they stop serving coffee's after 8.30 pm. Very annoying Staff trying to get rid of customers so they get off home as soon as possible?
