"A warm welcome is always on offer here at The Cross Scythes Hotel, we’re a family and dog friendly pub nestled in the heart of Totley, Sheffield. The Cross Scythes Hotel is located south of Sheffield, surround by plenty of natural beauty, particularly close to the Black Moor Nature Reserve. The Cross Scythes Hotel offers the best of both worlds, a rural picturesque village pub, but yet only a 23 minute car journey into the centre of Sheffield."

I have had the pleasure of a few meals here now, all of a superb quality. punching above its price tag, which is very reasonable for the quality of the meals. Friendly and helpful staff and a good selection of well kept beers. we will be back!
Nice looking pub/restaurant/Hotel. Very welcoming. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere , several 'corners'/ part of the venue. Room very adequate, having all you need, though no lift to first floor but easy accessible More than enough parking space. Rooms: Nice authentic features - beams. Could have used at least one chair. Lovely bathroom. Food & drinks: We had a lovely meal, well presented and of good taste. Noteworthy details: Nice looking building, inside out.
Great pub just stopped in for a pint. First time I've ever been in. Friendly service, nice beer, nice outdoor area. GENTS TOILETS ARE DISGUSTING. SMELLY, DIRTY AND IN POOR REPAIR!!!
Really poor meal and service. Short staffed on the evening I went and the hunters chicken and calamari starter was really not nice at all. We ended up cancelling our puddings and going home early. A real shame as we were excited to go on our holiday.
Do not waste your money. The menu sounds delicious, but unfortunately it doesn't deliver. Very small portions. £14.50 for pasta that was dry and had one rubbery scallop on it. Additional £3.50 garlic bread that was one piece of stale wholemeal toast. Food & drinks: Drinks were okay, but food was terrible
Stayed one night. Lovely comfy bed and close to the mountain bike areas for me. Pretty much same price as sheffield travelodge but I'd much rather support a pub business. Thanks guysRooms: 4/5
We ate here last week, the service was very friendly and attentive, good atmosphere minus the football flags etc and the food was very well presented and excellent value for money on the 2 courses for £15.50 menu.Service: 5/5
Just stayed here for 2 nights...Nightmare ...room hadnt been cleaned or bin in loo empted ..Horrid.!! Breakfast nxt morning had been cooked then heated again..coulded eat most ..nxt morning was the same !!! Asked if manager could please contact me ..still waiting ..not great ...Rooms: 1/5
We saw the big sign outside after our walk today Coffee & Cake £5...unfortunately no cake only millionaires shortbread the latte was lukewarm and there were no teaspoons as they were waiting to be washed !! Having said that, we do enjoy this pub.
Came in for a drink with friends last night and was greeted by a very arrogant member of staff who thought he could pick and choose who he served, seemed to think he knew everything. It's a shame because this seems to be a nice pub
