Absolutely loved this place, the lodge was fantastic, immaculately clean, warm and the hot tub was awesome - perhaps a bit pricey but other than that an excellent get away. The sea view was outstanding sitting in the tub-best holiday park I've ever been to.
We have just got back from a weekend away in a lakeside cabin with a hot tub! It was absolutely beautiful! Would highly recommend for a getaway!
Site and facilities were great but Wi-Fi non existent, big problem in this day and age where so much depends on its availability. Shocking response from site reception saying we should contact 3rd party providers. Won't be going back there.
Stayed for 3 nights in August. Pitch number and gate code emailed before arrival . Pitch was flat reasonable size. Toilet / shower block was new but basic, in design . Site had a small shop with a few basics for sale . On site Swimming pool unfortunately closed when we were there . Restaurant food good if you like Italian no other choices and you eat in the site bar area no separation from all the others just into the bar with children running around while you eat.
We are due to leave tomorrow and quite sad to be going. We booked a touring pitch and also emailed in to extend our stay to come a day earlier. The site is well kept, a lovely location with ample access to water points nearby, chemical disposal points and rubbish bins. Getting into the park was a simple process being given the pitch number in advance and a code to enter the site. Overall very satisfied and will happily book to come again for a short break. My only critique is the shower heads spray to far out soaking all your cloths on the hook of the shower cubical, also it would be useful to have a small shelf on the wall which you can put your toiletries on whilst using the shower. Thank you for a smooth stay!
Very precarious drive up to this site, wouldn't visit again I'm afraid. The site and our pitch location was excellent. Brand new showers and toilets. Were advised the site capacity is up to 3k because accommodates tents, caravans and motorhomes plus there are static lodges with amazing views. Club house is very modern and again has nice views. All the staff are friendly and accommodating.
Lovely camp site with plenty of space to spread out and make yourself a little area for you and friends. People all seem happy and friendly with no issues. Newer toilet and shower block is absolutely fine. The other block can get quite messy over a weekend and not smell great with loo roll and rubbish scattered about bur guess that's down to whoever uses it rather than being the fault of the site. Would defo use again.
Have been coming to shearbarn for past 35 yrs but this year has to be our last bring the grandkids for last week before school back as busy at bank holiday weekend but quiet after This was not the case we’re in empty field and a tent set up right next to us with a very large dog who barked constantly throughout the night!! Owners shouting at it. There was no food available after the bank holiday Monday, and the Thursday and Friday the club house was shut due to a wedding without no forewarning, amenities are very poor and need updating, with one wash block been the same for over 30yrs now taken away showers from them. childrens area very tired and broken, shop please don’t expect much other than cleaning essentials as I said I came for my kids and now the grandkids but Farewell Shearbarn you need to up your game
Stayed here in middle of July 2022 and would have to say it was the most relaxing English holiday I've ever experienced, its a must if you need to chill and relax with the furry friends in tow, try it beautiful place friendly staff great walks and views going back next July...the Bennetts
No rules at all. Noise at all hours and no one does anything about it. Signs stating no camp fires or fire pits. Staff just walk on by while blazing fires and smoke everywhere. The touring fields seem to be more like football pitches. Caravans on site that are not the type you holiday in with vans and pick up trucks going to and from work of sorts. Loads of vans speeding through site. kids driving a 4x4 around aswell as another car. This places seems to attract all of them. Typically drunks. , yes we all like a drink but ' for breakfast 'I was so glad to leave and will never return again. The type of people isn't the sites fault but they do nothing about it. Maybe someone will take note of this review and maybe give someone else a better holiday.
