The receptionist was lovely but unfortunately the service here just isn't it so don't bother. No warning to come earlier because of severe traffic even though the receptionist said she'd been turning people away all day because of it and I arrived about 20 minutes at most late after being kicked off my bus because the driver was terminating the journey because of traffic. Half an hours walk in the rain, cold and wind I finally arrived and they turned me away despite there being no other patients waiting and me clearly being in distress all because it would take 'too long' for my appointment. Soaking wet, shivering and now crying I was just happy they let me use their loo to try and get myself together before then waiting for a bus which an hour later I was told dosen't turn up at the stop outside anymore. This is the worst surgery and if you have a choice, don't go here, ever.
My experience was brilliant. Reception staff welcoming and professional. Dr Saleem was amazing as she listened to all my concerns and gave a thorough examination. I cannot thank her enough. I just had my hospital referral letter through. Just to mention I have been a patient here for 25 years. Thank you NHS
I registered to this surgery since 2018,even for once I could not get any appointment for my children tankless of myself up till today despite that i make a phone call by 8am all they can say is fully booked that you can not get an appointment. This so so annoying. Even the staff talking to meon the phone was so rude she just hung up on me. I am sick and tired of their service
One of the worse GP ever I seen unprofessional and the staff are very rude and they think they working in grocery shop and don't have enough knowledge and I don't understand the owner who run this place he should have to think before he higher those kind of rude people. First of all calling on your GP waiting in the queue and after 45 mint when your turn come for talk and you know what they saying call 111 so if you just sitting on the reception and saying call 111 go home close this Centre useless, helpless playing with people life.
I used to go to this surgery for a least 25 years until I moved. When there was a small glass window to see the receptionist & when there were great doctors like Gold & Bickley. When they made changes, it was still running smoothly for a short while. However, now I find the receptionist pretend they think they are doctors by asking about your situation, as if they are able to diagnose you? I called in once to speak to a doctor about my results? Instead the receptionist felt it was ok for her to read out my results as negative which was supposed to be a good thing but I later found out, she provided me with the incorrect information & had a doctor call me in!! Was fuming at the time. Hence the reason I no longer go there.
Went to get a prescription yesterday, the receptionist was lovely, immediately got my sons prescription with no waiting time at all, she also gave advice as to how to obtain my medical exemption form; and gave pleasant conversation. Very professional and pleasant with it.
Been trying to book an appointment for days. Each time I call no one picks up the phone. Tried calling them at 8am for 10 minutes straight one day couldn't get through then decided to walk there since the surgery is just 2 minutes away from my house only to find the receptionist drinking coffee and chatting with someone. Had another reason to get an appointment so called them at 8am again during my break at work for 10 minutes even if I had a signal no one picked up. Did the same thing the next day, even had to ask my work to let me make the call because I really needed the appointment. So I was calling from 8am until 9am non stop no one picked up and the line was good. Finally after 9am someone picked up but it was too late since they were fully booked and they told me I have to call again at 8am the next day.
Between Laurie Pike Health Centre and Shanklin House Surgery, they literally and on purpose do not answer the phone. I have seen them do it several times, when theres no onr waiting in line or to be seen, the phone is ringing and they are having conversations with each other and literally walking back anf forth to the reception area. For the past two years, the service has become poor, it has been difficult to get through, book an appointment and deal with repeated prescriptions. There is NO TEAMWORK, NO-GOOD QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND LACK OF STAFF. Its not the same as it was years ago.
