A definite must see. You'd rarely find a parliament building open for the public. The building of course is beautiful and modern. But the most important is the opportunity to get near the political process.

It's certainly and interesting building to walk around and the locals seem make full use of the grounds. When I walked through the area children were playing in the little ponds making good use of the warmer weather and sunshine.

I cannot speak to the running of Parliament or how the locals feel about it, but as a visitor from another country, I found the building and grounds very intriguing. Remarkably, the only place in all of Edinburgh where I saw armed police. I highly recommend the tour! They are free and it lasts about an hour. I was really impressed at how friendly and professional everyone was from the security check at the door to the tour guide. Some of the architectural details are really beautiful, while some are merely puzzling, but overall it is a very striking building. I really enjoyed learning a little about how another country's government functions and getting a glimpse of the inner workings.

A bit of a trek to get to from the centre of Edinburgh, although there's good public transport in the city. It's am impressive building in very much less impressive surroundings.

Went on the free tour, which was really fun and informative. The building dates from the 1990s, which I found surprising. I don’t find it particularly attractive, but it is impressive. And I enjoyed learning about how the parliament operates.
