Had my car fixed here after it had failed its MOT at another garage, and they couldn't fix it. Called Scott motors up, and they were more than happy to help me. Professional, friendly and good customer service from this garage from start to finish and will be using them from now on for future MOT and services.
Cowboys Had the car a grand total of 5 days and car has come back the exact same, problems unresolved. A two year old could have given the car back still broken.
Best mechanics in the borders 100% wouldn’t take my car anywhere else best customer service best prices and gets the job done quick even on short notice!
Had my car in for mot failed on the rear brakes and a couple of other things taken the car away and had all major issues fixed, took it back a week later failed again on, service brake excessively fluctuating off side rear. Parking brake efficiency below requirements. Brakes imbalanced across an rear axle. Now the first time I'll give them it the rear cylinders were seized had it was fixed plus the drums and shoes were 3 to 4 months old so the brakes where new in my eyes. Taken the car to another garage down the street the next day and asked them to check the brakes and what do you know nothing wrong with them. No fluctuation no imbalance and the parking brake past with flying coulers. Do not use this garage appalling just scammed me out my mot. Pictures are of the mot failure and the brake test done at the other garage for the rear drums 170 on both sides no fluctuation parking brake was 168 and 200 please note that the rear brakes had not been touched after the failed test.
dont go here unless you want parts stolen from your car, very un professional , clueless staff, owner is a complete child, wheels stolen from my car while in their care, i was told its not their problem and they were very rude, DONT GO HERE!

I have reluctantly changed and placed this review after problems since having repairs done at this garage. Went in for what should have been standard run of the mill repairs but have been left with constant fault since picking up my motor. Problem is ongoing ever since and no longer have faith in the repair or car since the work was carried out. This problems just did not exist before I took the car for the original repair work and only became a problem immediately after I picked up my motor and is still ongoing. This is an honest reluctant review of how I feel about the problems since picking up my car from the garage , since John himself is a real nice guy.
Similar experience as other reviewers so will be going elsewhere as I feel they are untrustworthy. When you book your car in they ask you to drop it in first thing 8:30am but don’t look at it until late in the afternoon and you have to phone them up to find out what’s happening. Did work on my wife’s car that there was a problem with, receptionist said she would speak to the mechanic and phone me back, never received a phone call. Pretty poor service all round.
My car broke down the clutch pedal was sticking to the floor so took it to Scott motors to get fixed and I got quoted £592 for a new clutch, slave cylinder and bearings so that’s was fine car got fixed and picked it up. Went to pay the bill to find out it went up and they had added a few more things onto the original quote. Took the car back home noised it was still sticking on Saturday so rang the garage on Monday morning and told them the clutch was still broken so they came up took the car back and replaced another part. The mechanic was rude and cheeky told me to pay for the other part which was £45 told him no because he couldn’t replace the parts in the first place correctly so it was his fault in the first place. So if you ever want anything done best advise is go elsewhere unless u want overcharged and your car back in the garage a day later. Wouldn’t let them change a tyre.
Would not recommend. I was suspicious that work was carried out that may not have been needed, also my van came back out the garage with another problem that I suspected they had caused they denied I had asked to be called from the owner to discuss the matter and did not receive a call. Previous work to my wife's car had parts put on the wrong way round potentially being very dangerous. Very dissatisfied customer and will not be back.
