Took the car to Lawries garage in February for a warranty repair to centre console screen. A diagnostic was carried out but then I heard nothing from them. After a month of being promised someone will call me back, I contacted VW UK who contacted Lawries and said I had to take it back for another diagnostic.I did this which was then followed by another month of being told someone will call me back tomorrow. In mid April VW UK told me they had no idea what was going on at Lawries but I should take the car to a dealer in Edinburgh. This wasn't easy to organise for various reasons but I got it to the Edinburgh dealer who diagnosed it, ordered the part and fixed it under warranty in 3 days. I still haven't heard anything from Lawries about why they wouldn't / couldn't fix the fault so will obviously not be using them again.
We've used the garage for many years and bought 3 cars from them. Used to be smaller and we could speak to the mechanics. Since it has expanded, it has been a bit more impersonal, but staff are good and helpful. I rely on them to remind me when MOT or Service is due. We trust their honest opinion, never had reason to doubt it, and their work. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but we have peace of mind.
They collected car to service it and returned it with a crack in the windscreen. Took no responsibility, ended up having to claim on my insurance for new screen. They offered to pay the excess but then ignored me when I sent them the invoice. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
I get my car serviced here every year and get excellent service. Popped in on spec the other day to get a key battery changed. 5 minutes later, it was done. Staff all very friendly and efficient.
We have been in contact with George Mack at lawries garage for the last couple of week regarding a certain car and we can honestly say the customer service that we were given was 100%. George greeted us in such a friendly manner and we instantly felt at ease in his company. The car was as promised and we are over the moon with our purchase. We travelled 3 and a half hours to buy our car and it was worth every mile . We Would definitely recommend this company . Many Thanks George from Michelle + Richard
I've taken my car here a few times now the most recent visit was last week for a service and MOT. I shall continue using Lawries when my Yeti needs attention because I feel it's a garage I can trust and one that really does it's best to look after the car and its owner properly. Very pleased to see Covid precautions well implemented and adhered to and the vehicle sanitised before handover. So five stars fully justified !!.
As a family we have bought 3 cars from Lawries two VWs one Seat great customer service from Andrew and the team in sales and great customer service and support sorting out VW software glitches to My Golf R from the Service team James and Chris and the guys in the Engine room …. After being messed about and badly let down by another Skoda dealer, today I collected my Octavia VRS from Lawries Garage and from start to finish the guys there were first class. Didn't come across as 'typical car salespeople', but rather as a relatable, friendly and honest group of guys. Offered me additional products but didn't push. While preparing the car there was some paint damage caused and they completely stripped the panel and professionally repainted it the night before I collected and the job they have done is outstanding. They called and let us know and were very apologetic and we collected the car only a few hours later than planned. I felt that the way they handled this situation shows they really care about their customers and their service/reputation. Thanks again to Jason, Calum and everyone else involved in getting it ready for me. Highly recommend these guys!
Very good garage in both sales and service. Despite the bad weather our car was picked up and returned the same day for attention to a warranty issue. We live 80 miles away. This garage makes the local vw dealers look distinctly average. No guessing where our next car will come from
