Decided to upgrade my company fleet with a new transit van at the start of the year. Was quoted some outrageous prices from well known dealerships. Contacted Gibb’s autos, not only did they source me a cheaper van, it was also younger with a lower mileage. It came with a full years MOT and service. I was delighted when collecting it to find out they also offered all mechanical services. I gave them my old van that other mechanics had told me was done for. After 2 weeks the team at Gibb’s autos had it back on the road! Couldn’t be more grateful to the Gibbs auto team! I’m planning to upgrade my car this year and It’ll be Gibb’s I’ll be buying from again. Outstanding service all round, thank you!!
Gibb Auto’s were very helpful today after my car got a puncture at the side of the road and I couldn’t get the wheel off. They showed up in great time for the distanced that they travelled and had me back on the road in 10 mins. Everything was carried out professionally and safely with them putting out cones with beacons on them and waving traffic around my car. All of this was also complemented by a very reasonable price that I had to pay for their service. Thanks again Gibb Auto’s
Bought a car from Gibb Autos at the end of last year. When picking up the car was SPECIFICALLY told that the clutch had an issue and was FIXED, however within a week guess what went wrong....yes the clutch. I did at that point call Gibb Autos for advice but at no point was i offered to bring the car back to them to get it checked out. That would have been great customer service for them to rectify the issue. Therefor i had to get it repaired by a garage. Since then more issues have appeared every month. Battery died which had to be replaced....then the alternator completely died too, so a brand new alternator was replaced. So within 3 months of purchasing the car i have so far spent over £1000 to try to just get from A to B. Thinking that was all that was wrong with it.... but....oh no i'm still having issues with the car. So here we go AGAIN back to the garage to fix another issue which will cost more money. I feel extremely disappointed in Gibb Autos as they are a business that not only sell used cars but fixes them too....if the issues on my car happened straight after purchasing it...then it should have been assessed better before selling.
Don't often do reviews, however I felt it appropriate in this case. Having destroyed two tyres and car being stranded, they came out immediately and rescued car to where I was staying. The next day, a Saturday, they then managed to find replacements in Newcastle, went to collect them and got my car back on the road. Couldn't rate them high enough for their excellent standard of care and service.
Five stars just isnt enough, I would give 10 stars if I could! A lovely family run business. We have had several problems with our current car and every time it has been fixed promptly and to the highest of standards. They go above and beyond every single time and we cannot thank them enough for all the help they have given us. We would 100% recommend to everyone to use Gibb Autos. We definitely wont be going anywhere else for our car problems. Thank you so much again guys
I bought a Mercedes Benz A class from Gibb Autos at the end of November. The following day I asked about an intermittent squeaking/whistling noise that I'd noticed. I was told that it was "the turbo kicking in"??. After this persisted, I finally got it thoroughly checked at Mercedes Benz in Coldstream last week £99 They identified several major faults including: split driveshaft gaiter, internal fault in steering rack and all brake pipes badly corroded. I was advised to not drive the car until these were fixed. Total cost to rectify was over £4000!!! I have not driven the car much over the couple of months I've had it, and have not had any accidents. Therefore, I find it difficult to believe most, if not all, of these faults have appeared in the short time I've owned the vehicle. I now have a car that I cannot afford to repair, is unsafe to drive and am over £2000 poorer! Please think carefully before you buy a used car from Gibb Autos.
