The Scotch Piper Inn, Lydiate, Merseyside, England is the oldest pub of the historic county of Lancashire. The building dates from 1320 and is a Grade II* listed building. Crowded historical pub. I'd like to go at a quiet time to have a better look. It was here in 1320 supposedly serving ale then. Six years after Edward II's defeat at Banockburn, did they use the name Scotch Piper at that time?
Quaint thatched country Inn. Outside space has been recently improved with new benches and additional space. Table service with good beers. Well worth a visit
Beautiful old thatched roof pub, carefully preserved. Camping field at rear
Proper old fashioned pub with a homely feel. Pleasant staff, currently offering table service too. We'll worth a visit
Brilliant ! Great camping, great music, good govenor. A really great weekend there !
Wow duck when you go in lol I hear that its oldest pub in lancs nice staff good ale good 4 a stop off on way to Southport
Well worth visiting this Historic Pub for the building but, the added bonus of the real ales makes it a must visit! Friendly staff but, apart from crisps and other similar snacks, food isn't available. If you enjoy darts the low ceiling will challenge some. We'll be visiting again in the not to distant future.
Plenty of tables. Good service under covid conditions. Excellent ales. Highly recommended.
