Lovely little gem. Only small seating area but the food is baked on the premises and is wonderful. The warmed 'Whitby fatties' served with the cream teas were so tasty. The lady who runs the shop was so friendly & welcoming. So glad we popped in - will definately return!

We were lucky enough to have found this place, the friendly and helpful staff are extremely welcoming. My favourite treat happens to be a scone , cream and jam....but my favourite has been discovered here. With the smallest difference in flavour the Whitby fatty(scone) is just the right amount of sweet and savoury which completely compliments cream and jam.....so heavenly that I ate it as slowly as possible and so much so I couldnt help but buy some to go home with to Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham). So please make sure you check this place out, my partner and I are slightly fussy about coffee and they really do make a good brew. If there is a wait for a seat, just wait and enjoy the delightful cakes that the chef makes and wonderful service from the lady there. Can't wait to be back.

We visit Sandgate Coffee and Delights every time we visit Whitby and always receive a warm welcome. The lady actually remembered us from last year. We had a delicious cream tea ( the Whitby Fatties freshley made by the chef were delicious as always). See you next year.

Extremely warm and friendly service that reflects the loving care that goes into every element of this business! Lovely cakes that are worth going back for (as we do every time we visit Whitby..on more than one occasion!) and lovely friendly people! Recommended on every level! If you are in Whitby, this lovely cake/coffee shop is well worth a visit!
