They serve up a decent Old Fashioned. Sometimes interesting starters like ox cheek or octopus. Nice vibe at the upstairs bar. Beautiful panoramic windows overlooking Catherine hill. Better for cocktails and starters in my opinion. Good wood fired pizza. I found the mains a bit average. Fish tacos were disappointing. Lots of fish but low on flavour.

We booked a table during the mini beast from the east. We were put next to the door. It's freezing out, there was obviously no forethought. We ordered drinks and 20mins later they arrived, the coffee was undrinkable (I've had better instant in government establishments). The other 3 drinks were tea, a bottle of beer and a sparkling water which cost more then it should have. We were asked what we would like to eat and having looked at the menu and having been freezing we decided against it. The food looked uninspired and over priced, the menus were difficult to decipher and poorly punctuated and the side dishes were almost the same price as the mains. I've given 2 stars purely for the fact our waitress was polite and obviously knackered but maintained professional and polite approach as much as she could. I would however recommend everyone avoids Sam's Kitchen as Sam is charging you for the same decor as giraffe with an overpriced lacklustre menu and a disgusting choice in over priced coffee.

A fantastic restaurant and I will always visit when in Frome. Superb service. Amazing menu. Great vegan options. A great ethos. Beautiful venue. Highly recommend. Thanks Sam for an excellent birthday.

I want to love this place, I really do but each time we've been service is achingly slow and more often than not either drinks or food order has come out incorrect. When food does arrive, it's been great. Feel for the chefs, they are doing good things but service is letting them down. Atmosphere is only good on live music nights (in my experiemce). If going, sit nowhere near in the draft of the two huge doors (most tables by the large entrance area) - you'll freeze each time they open. Put in a curtain, management! Such a simple solution.

I had the burger and chips... simply amazing and filling although some salad on the plate would have been nice at £12.50 :) The hot chocolate however was really unpleasant- didn't taste of chocolate. Tasted like a very weak 1 teaspoon nesquick when the directions says to add 4! The inside was nice and quirky and just a little dirty. I would go back again simply cause the burger was so nice but everything else needs to step up... the men's toilet and the upstairs card machine were both out of order on my visit but these things just happen from time to time I guess.
