Story

Completely refurbished by the previous owners this quirky listed grade two building has managed to retain many of the original features including the squeaky floorboards!

The main attraction is the high quality, locally sourced food and epitomises the phrase “gastro pub”. Our popularity with our local market is testimony to what we consider to be the best restaurant in the area.

We have six rooms which all offer a contemporary feel which is complemented by modern amenities. They have been described as” boutique in style with a touch of chic”

The icing on the cake we feel is the service we deliver. Our aim is always to be attentive, yet discreet and totally flexible offering the highest levels of casual dining.

Room was clean and tidy, shower cubicle could do with a overhaul and replace the tiles with panels as the current ones are showing their age. Courtyard noise was gone by 11 so no problems. Now the service and breakfast were outstanding we couldn’t fault it in anyway.nGreat location and very reasonable prices, we certainly would stop again without any hesitation.
Excellent location for us going to a show at very near by Cheese and Grain. Really friendly staff and excellent dinner and breakfast. Car parking was not a issue for us, it was a stones throw away and reasonable price. Room was a little tiered looking but bed was super comfy. Would stay again.
Great 2 nights stay in this characterful property in central Frome.nOur room was an attic room - head space was a bit tight we’re both c6’ tall. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean.nThe included breakfast offered a range to choose from. Dinner was also good. Excellent service throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again but in a non-attic room!
A historical coaching inn situated in the centre of Frome. It is recorded in the Domesday Book and full of interesting facts.nThe old architecture exudes charm with its exposed beams,worn stone and brick,creaky floorboards- all tell a story of centuries gone by.nThere are a few cozy nooks where one can relax and take in its atmosphere.nOur bedroom was quite spectacular with its period furnishings and comfortable bed. Food was very nice as was the well stocked bar. The town is well worth a visit with its cobbled streets and individual shops.nWe shall return!
We have just spent a wonderful night here, my partner and myself booked last minute. We arrived to friendly staff, beautiful decor, and everything was clean, it was a beautiful first impression.nnWe chose a selection of dishes from their menu and we could not fault one! The stay was lovely , the room was spacious it was so clean , and smelled amazing! The bathtub was unreal!!nnThe breakfast was incredible, everything was fresh! I see some comments about price but I truly feel that you get what you pay for and I would hands down pay this again, for the service, the staff, for the food for the atmosphere.nnWe cannot wait to come and visit you again! The entire team and the manager could not do enough to accommodate our stay and all were so friendly!
