Great independent restaurant! Only disappointment was the murky, bitter and grainy espresso.
I was pretty pleased with what I ordered. Really nice food and staff. I don't eat coleslaw and I ate this coleslaw, so yeah, pretty good.
It was one of the best meals I ever had, they have a lot of GF and DF options.
Visited a couple of weeks ago and it was ok. My starter and main were good I had calamari and prawn & crab linguine but my dessert wasn’t great. It was meant to be a cheesecake but the base wasn’t set so it seemed like a pile of biscuit crumbs and the cheesecake was curdled. There was an initial long wait for our drinks and even then they missed two beers which then took another 20 minutes to appear. Others on my table ordered the burgers for the main which were burnt and generally disappointing. When it came round to pay they calculated the amount wrong so we almost left without paying the whole bill! Generally, it was OK but the food and the service could both be improved. I wouldn’t say the reviews on Google were representative of our experience.
Disappointing meal. Nice restaurant and friendly staff but the food a big disappointment. The chicken, prawn and mushroom ramen unexceptional. Chicken clearly pre cooked, almost no mushrooms. Too salty and lacking distinctive flavour. Frankly I can cook better myself at home! Portions not that generous. Also 10% service charge added automatically not an option. I doubt we'll be back.
During our stopover on our way home from Cornwall, we found the Fat Radish in Frome and it is a gem. We’re gluten free vegans and although the Fat Radish is neither vegan, nor gluten free, it has a definite emphasis on working on both on the menu. Highly recommended, with amazing staff and delicious food. We’re defo coming back!
Very popular, the Fat Radish was fully booked when I visited, but managed to fit me in at the bar, and other visitors into a late sitting. They have a great selection of cocktails, and a food menu that is a little different from the everyday and very tasty. Great, friendly service from a team that obviously also get on well.
I absolutely adored my time at the Fat Radish. They have something for everyone - vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, etc. It's all absolutely delicious, fresh, and filling. We had the hummus and some roasted beets to start which were glorious, then we each had a different burger, all top notch. With barely enough room to breathe we shared a slice of vegan chocolate cake. The staff we're super friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hearty meal to share with friends and family, especially if you need to accommodate different diets.
A premier eatery in what is fast becoming a foodie nirvana. Frome has quite a few good places to eat, a handful of great places to eat and a small splattering of truly exceptional places to eat. The Fat Radish most definitely falls into the latter category. I went for the full three courses but did allow my partner to 'share' the dessert of ginger sticky toffee pud. Great service and superb selection for veggies and carnies alike.
Amazing! They have a really cool rustic feel to the restaurant and the food is incredible. My partner and I shared a roasted carrot and coriander soup that was topped with these amazing little crunchy things to start. For the main she had roasted peppers and I had an enormous plate of the roasted butternut squash and beetroot. We finished of with an indulgent little chocolate pudding and a coffee. Often in places like this the food is well put together but I leave still feeling hungry but, not here. They were good portions and I left feeling really full. I also just want to mention the staff were amazing, they really looked after us.
