Got a takeaway but never again, absolutely awful food and customer service. Amongst other bits had ordered crispy Bhajiya and the potatoes were under done and had a crunchy bite to them. On calling to complain they tried to justify that they are crispy bhajiya that’s why they are crispy . After arguing that they are not crispy they are raw they made me take them back to the restaurant for them to check it. When I returned them they didn’t even check the box they just took the bag and asked if I wanted them replaced, I refused as was disappointed with all the food overall. Won’t be ordering from here again.
Long standing restaurant with a famous Indian Buffet consisting of paneer, pizza, dosa, Mogo, noodles, curries as well as a number of desserts. The lunch time buffet cost just £10.49 which is a bargain considering chilli paneer alone costs this price from the main menu. Fresh food was brought out on occasions but the majority of food does not get topped up until it is close to being finished. This is acceptable for dry paneer dishes but dosa is unappealing after being left for soo long. They have recently changed the decor and the crimson walls and poorly fitted booths are off putting. Dress code: casual Cost: ££ Service: Fair and friendly Ambience: Quiet on weekdays
They have buffet offer like 3 times a week which is phantastic. Adult £9.99 on a Sunday - all you can eat. However I think it is an offer at the moment because usually they only have on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I think. Their food and service were great. I have been there a several times and I would go there again and again. It is a vegetarian restaurant with many varieties. The items which I didnt quite like was the soup and noodles. However you have to try their salad. It is very delicious and different.
This is how Sakonis think a pizza should be made. Absolutely no care for the food they are making. Looks like they just threw a few slices from the buffet into the box. Phoned up and received absolute terrible customer service, the man of the phone wouldn’t actually listen to anything I was saying, would just talk over me and hung up on me. They said it couldn’t be a buffet pizza as they haven’t started buffet yet but they must have forgotten they have a lunch time buffet. I think I’ll use one of the other Sakonis branches going forward as I receive much better customer service from them.
Super Buffet at very reasonable costs.. great service, superb choice of delicious variety of food from starters to dessert. Lovely ambience... Thoroughly enjoyed the visit Vegetarian options: Super choice of several dishes... well worth it
Enjoyable experience, felt like I was taken back to Gujarat India. We had great fun trying all the flavoursome foods on offer at the buffet. And service not bad either. It’s an informal restaurant so can’t knock it.
Highly disappointed with the restaurant, service, management and food. Would give negative star if had an option. Staff is least concerned about the customers. Also there is no gesture to greet costumer. Food was prepared without any spices. Advertising half price but seems to improve the quality of food..!! Hardly 2 or 3 dishes were good in comparison to 20 dishes. In dessert they serve vanilla ice full of sugar. I was not happy to pay service charges because we didn’t get any service from staff. Sorry to say but was not happy with any single thing by sakonis.!! Need to improve..!!
Came here for a family meal. First time visiting. Have walked past the place and thought we’d give it a go. Not the most appealing restaurant. Really needs modernising. Toilet facilities were dreadful. Really needed a clean when I was there. Filthy enough to put you off your food. Luckily I went after my meal. Table service was slow and rather chaotic. Got the wrong food on our table. Staff weren’t apologetic either. Waiter was in a rush to get out order. Husband had food that was undercooked. The potatoes were raw in the middle. Had to return it to the kitchen. Dosa wasn’t cooked properly. The edges were still soggy with raw dosa mix rather than crispy. Filling and sambhar were not nice. Son hated his noodles they tasted very odd, he had a bad stomach the next day so I’m thinking it was old food that’s been reheated and chilli paneer was the same. Had a very strange taste to them, very deep salty taste with over powered the whole dish. Mum and dads naan was very chewy and you need to use all you might to tear a piece off. They didn’t like the food either. Not to our liking at all. Food was flavour less and not worth the money. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.
Had a lovely Xmas Veggie Lunch with good company here today! Everything was lovely. I loved the starters and the options of various lighter and heavier dishes. The taste was authentic and nothing was overly spicy or greasy. The mango pulp, sreekand, the rice kheer were amazing. The options of paneer, tofu, rice, noodles, soft puris EVERYTHING was super duper yummy! Cannot recommend this place enough for vegans too. Thank You for making my lunch experience this GOOD!
Worst ever experience! Waited 15-20 mins for each and every single item on the buffet. Requested again and again to the staff to refill the items- first two times we were told to wait on the table and after waiting for 15 more minutes, I complained that this is my 3rd request, can I speak to the manager.Manager came shouting from the kitchen and asked us to get out. This gentleman also threatened to slap me and my husband when I asked to give me telephone number of the owner or a complaint process. My kids were scared and crying with all the staff members surrounding us and shouting in their regional language we couldn’t understand. Not sure if this restaurant is part of the Sakunis chain or sold to new management. We have been loyal customers since 2004 and never expected to be treated this way. One other staff member who knew us as regulars tried to stop the manager and other staff members from shouting, he was instructed to go back to his work immediately! My in-laws who were visiting us from India were all shocked and taken aback by the unprofessional behaviour by the manager and staff members.
