Review is about Lodge Wooden Houses mainly, They are Very clean, comfy and properly equipped. Very friendly Staff, always to help with the information you need. Nice swimming pool but need to be more ventilated as there is no air to breathe, so there is no way to enjoy the swimming. Definitely worth to come back.
We came here on our 13th week of our travels across the country and this was our 30th campsite so we have a lot of comparisons. The campsite is nice enough, which each pitch being serviced with electricity and water. There are some good facilities including the swimming pool and cafe / shop unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool as we can't leave the dogs in the van. The toilet / showers are kept clean and they are modern, I liked the fact that they were adult only too shame that there wasn't a private cubicle with just a wash basin. Our one big gripe about the site is that the water isnt hot enough particularly for dish washing how can you wash dishes in luke warm water, and what makes it laughable is the sign that says "warning hot water"- really? The location is nice for walking, we did a couple of lovely walks from the site with our dogs to Fort Henry and out to the local villages of Exton and Exton estate. Greetham is lovely with two pubs, we particularly enjoyed our outing to the Plough very dog friendly and welcoming. We scored this lower purely on the water situation because we happen to feel hot water for dishwashing is really important. Oh and be warned the Church chimes every hour on the clock with one bell for each hour. Luckily we use ear plugs and so it didn't bother us to much that being said it's a beautiful church.
If you’re thinking of visiting Rutland water maybe look for somewhere friendly. Site workers don’t like their jobs clearly and not helpful, could be a lovely place with a change of atmosphere, not all staff as the catering people are most friendly. And thanks for great food, made us feel welcome.
One of our favourite sites to visit, nice friendly staff, very clean toilet block, nice walks and two lovely pubs in the village. Also the food on site is great!
We have visited this site twice, I think the site is great, shame about the miserable staff, not friendly in any way!! And make sure you don’t ask for any help if it’s not their working hours, . Won’t be returning. You’ll see for yourself if attending. But I’d like to end on a good point. The little cafe is a gem the food is delicious, the staff in there go above and beyond and helped us in need. Pizzas a massive must…
Has this site changed hands, last visit a year ago was very pleasant, this visit has put us off coming again. Not friendly people who run office and live on site, food fantastic in the little cafe with a warm welcome. I don’t think they are same workers for the site. Won’t be going there again. Shame as used to like it
Friendly staff. Large fully serviced pitch. Nice play park, cleverly placed in centre of field so you can watch your little camper from your own pitch. Facilities were clean each time I visited. Swimming pool good value for a thirty minute private booking. Recommended if visiting Rutland.
We stayed in one of the lodges, it was excellent! plenty of room very well equipped honestly they thought of everything comfy beds loved the hot tub and robes. The team really look after the place everyone was very friendly and helpful. I'm sure we'll be visiting again
Lovely arrangement, pitches around sandy play area, well maintained. Private hire pool, although completely cloudy water. Service mixed, shouting at us from a tractor about having two gazebos but second day the lady was lovely.
First time out with our recent purchase, very helpful staff and site is very clean and tidy. Showers and toilets spotless. Would highly recommend using this site. We went in to Oakham and walked the south part of Rutland water, Fantastic weekend away.
