Lovely shop and campsite quick check-in. It is also quite close to a Rutland water were you can spend a full day there the people opposite us were playing music until 11pm and they were talking until 12am I would definitely recommend it and would like to go back
In my opinion the lake appears neglected with many overgrown and inaccessible swims, other swims steeply cut and dangerous in the wet. Very few signs of decent fish and abrasive bailiff. Much better value day ticket waters locally.
Fishing is pretty good but the track leading to the lakes is a death trap with huge pot holes, I damaged my car causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage smashing my oil sump as the pot holes are at least 8 inches deep in places it's terrible so I won't be going back until they are fixed..
It's very small with a difficult access road for non 4x4 but had a great day fishing. Caught a 17lb common carp and many other carp.
Bought my daughter a Chinese tonight she said it is very very good
