Brilliant day out for the family, archer was a lot of fun and considerably cheaper than centre parcs down the road. Nice walk around the lake and the pedalos are also great. Make sure you visit the ford and watch the cars splash the waiting kids in the sunshine.
Well maintained grounds, lots to look at and a playground for children. Just be aware that it’s dogs on lead only which I completely understand but no sign at the entrance to make non local visitors know until they have paid to park. Could do with a exercise area for lively pets.
Brought back wonderful memories visiting Rufford today. The place has changed immeasurably over the years but has still retained its beautiful scenic walks and calming aura. The council has invested hugely in renovating the abbey and house as well as making it very family orientated. Lots to do for kids from seeing the Abbey, lake walks to the adventure golf, playground, archery and boating. Some wonderful sculptures around the formal gardens and lovely places to eat. It is £4 for parking but well worth the price and visit. At its beating heart is still the opportunity to wonder at the marvels of nature.
A great place for a walk and to take kids out. 2 cafés, 1 at each end of the lake. Lots of wild life and planned walks to find unusual landmarks from history.
This place is vast with a boating lake ,old Mill tea room, Abbey ruins, plenty of places to eat and orangery garden centre to mention a few. Nice walk over the bridges across the lake but was a little disappointed that you could not have a look round the Abbey ruins as all fenced off, looks like a nice place if you have young children as plenty for them to do.
Nice park to visit...too bad they dont have free car park and most of the time the access is closed by car...they have barriers at the entrance...it may be one spot here and there if you are with some friends
Absolutely great place to visit with endless walks and trails, lovely formal gardens, sculpture walk, play park and great food and drink facilities. We spent hours here and would gladly come back. Free to enter the park and grounds , £4 to park all day. You will enjoy this much more than Sherwood Forest or other attractions nearby if you like outdoors, woodland, walking and wildlife.
Lovely place for a walk round the lake. Don't forget to have a look at the ford - not far from the cafe where the boats are rented out - and there are lots of ducks and geese here too. Also have a look at the Abbey formal gardens and modern sculptures which are really beautiful.
Lovely place to visit, we made the most of it even though it was raining. This is a great place to visit for families, it had crazy golf. A garden shop, as I'm not local I didn't go inside. It has a nice sized playground. 2 zip wires some little tunnels, which my son thoroughly enjoyed swings and a false horse and carriage which was a nice feature. There was a small pond near the garden shop and a cafe which served oat milk! Nice bonus for me and a variety of cakes. Hopefully I have time to come here again when the weather is nicer before we head home when the holiday ends.
Visited with my partner and children. Well managed. Clean, good value for money
