Parking was hard to find but there was some close at the hospital. Toilets are only available at the kiosk / cafe for customers. That is the only negative. Pleasant walk. I spent over two hours walking around staff doing their best to keep the weeds down and everything looking good. If you want a get away from the city or just have time to kill while you wait for your hotel to be available as I did it is a nice relaxing time. Picnic area: Just pull up a bit of grass and lay down your blanket and picnic hamper or have something at the cafe. The food was good
The National Arboretum is a place everyone should visit. It has amazing memorials and statues for all the armed forces and other organisations that have done so much for others. We went for the Donor Family service held annually in the Aspect building. There is a free exhibition on 1944 inside. A great restaurant, and shop. A land train to take you around the grounds. Loads of volunteers to talk to. And entrance is FREE apart from parking Playground: There is a playground for children and a Stick man trail. Restrooms: The toilets are clean.
Well kept gardens with gorgeous trees, British birds and friendly squirrels. The Chinese Bell is interesting too. I enjoyed my time here. Shame the cafe or toilets weren't open, especially as it's been half term week. Restrooms: Not open Dog-friendliness: Yes and most owners are responsible with leads and pooh bags. Picnic area: Plenty of benches to sit. No specific area.
It was ok, a bit dull and far too many young people smoking cannabis. I’d avoid if you like a relaxing park which doesn’t smell funky. On the contrary if you wish to use illicit drugs this seems to be the place
A well upkeep park in the city. Though the city centre is a bit busy. But in here, you could hear birds singing, loads of ducks and squirrels. Tall and huge trees as well. Thanks for the staff and everyone love to keep this park.
Loved this place my whole life. Had a lovely picnic with friends and a lovely walk. Beautiful place with historical significance and fantastic collection of trees.
Nice Victorian park. Shame aviaries are a bit run down but rest of the grounds neatly maintained. Some lovely listed features such as tunnel under adjoining road, Chinese bell tower and canons from Crimean war
Excellent place lots of squirrels lovely to walk round and plenty to see. and a lovely peaceful cafe with friendly staff
Pretty gardens with lots of natural wildlife and greenery. The park is also home to some of the friendliest squirrels I’ve ever seen, be prepared for them to come right up to you!
Nice, relaxing area. But the cafe timings need to be updated and people were drinking inside irrespective of fine imposed
