Every time I go to this place you’re shut! How about a bit of organisation and post some reliable opening times on google! Myself and three other people standing outside feeling done over, having ventured out and spent however much on parking. Says 8am to 10am. Not once has it been open when I’ve tried to pick a parcel. Past or present…
I walked for twenty minutes in the sweltering heat to the Royal Mail Collection Depot in Rayleigh today Friday 12th August in order to collect a parcel that Royal Mail had been unable to deliver yesterday. I arrived at 12:30 and despite the notice on the wall stating that the office should be open between 12:00 and 2:00 the door was locked. There was no notice on the door to explain the reason for this and on calling the telephone number on the website the number was unobtainable. I waited for ten minutes and tried again without success. Other delivery services will deliver to a neighbour and although Royal Mail has a service whereby delivery dates can be changed, despite attempting to do this on numerous occasions we have never been successful. We have a really lovely, helpful post lady but she is being let down by Royal Mail backup services. Over the past few years Royal Mail postal charges have increased exponentially with the service deteriorating. It is very sad that one of our national institutions is failing so dismally.
You cannot collect a parcel here. Opening times meaningless, been on 4 separate occasions during 'open' hours and it's boarded up every time, not a human in sight to speak to.
Don’t try and collect here! The opening hours on the door say 8am to 10am but I’ve been twice within these hours and the doors locked pointless office.
Closed every time I come here, absolute joke of a delivery office. It's not hard to update your opening times online.
Jobsworth! With no post being delivered this week,my husband attempted to collect both ours and our two next door neighbours. One is 85 and suffers from Parkinsons, the other is 86 and has cancer and is waiting for a hospital appointment letter. Both are essentially housebound and each gave us a utility bill as proof of their address. Despite explaining the situation and providing proof of who he was, the desk clerk at the Royal Mail depot flatly refused to hand over any mail. He asked for a letter of authority together with a passport and/or driving licence from each neighbour- neither of which do they have. He then stated that our post would be delivered that day - Nothing arrived and we are all still awaiting vital post!
Abysmal service! I waited about a week for a tracked delivered, but when I checked the tracking number on their website it claimed it had been delivered to me the previous day at 3:05pm I was out all that day, and have witnesses to that fact. To make matters worse I live in a block of 9 flats with a buzzer entry system, and no way could the postman have gained entry by pressing my buzzer, so they must have pressed someone elses to gain entry. The trade entry button does not work in the afternoon, so they could not have used that to gain entry. I can only assume he just dumped it outside my door where some opportunist took a shine to it. However, you try, and get any kind of support from the Post Office though...... They make it as hard as humanly possible for you to pursue the matter. I was initially told I needed to contact the seller by the Post Office which I did. He contacted the Post Office who told him I have to contact the Post Office as it is showing as 'Delivered'. I am sure they just mess you about in the hope you will just go away. Every year I have given a little monetary gift to my postman as a thank you but this year they can forget it!
Rubbish service.I was informed by an online message on Monday that a parcel had been delivered at8.28 am ,I did hear a knock at the door but by the time I reached it no one was there, and certainly no parcel. I phoned the sorting office several times,no answer, same again on Tuesday,so I walked down to the office that was locked, closed all day today, and only open for a couple of hours tomorrow morning. Covid is the excuse that is being used for the change of hours
I have posted a tracked letter not delivered lost. All they do is hide behind Covid 19 an absolute disgrace. Patronising rude how can a letter be posted and supposedly not delivered. Even though 19:/20 people working at the address. No card left. I find out by checking the tracking app. Receiver states no card left so order a redelivery but that doesn’t happen try again and told it’s lost. So other mail delivered to same business address. Makes me believe post is being stolen. Advisors on the phone line Archie promises a manager will call back never happens. I had to call back to ask if Track the postman Jasmine says. Yes that will be done. So I call today and finally get through to Adam says that will be done. That I get a callback guess I am not holding my breath. So don’t used recorded mail it goes astray just send ordinary post it’s safer
Why are the current opening hours not on the website? Went to collect parcel on Wednesday the office is closed all day. I went Thursday morning at 7:15 not open until 8am. It’s ridiculous what reason for the change in hours? How are people that work full time supposed to collect parcels. I will consider not ordering from company’s that use Royal Mail to deliver. I don’t have this issue with Amazon & Hermes delivery drivers.
