We had a great stay at the Coppid Beech for three days over Christmas. The rooms were big, comfortable, warm, ours was exceptionally quiet, and we slept very soundly indeed. We were really impressed by the gym and pool facilities, both of which were pretty much as good as you'd find in a dedicated fitness place. The staff were really helpful and friendly, with Inga on the front desk giving us great info about the facilities. Overall, the level of comfort was impressive and I'd recommend it highly. In terms of downsides, in places the decor could probably benefit from a bit of updating, but it still feels like a great option for a relaxed and peaceful stay.
My kids had booked a surprise overnight stay here as it was my daughters Birthday and mine within 2 days. We had a lovely time. The room was very big, clean and had a spa bath as well. Cannot fault the cleanliness. There were groups of hen nights and Birthday gatherings and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The food was amazing and hot. We went to see a live band in the basement who played a selection of well known and popular tunes. The dance floor was constantly full as a result. 4 stars given because the jacuzzi was not available but overall I would go there again.
Loved the whole experience. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The interior decoration of the rooms, lobby and hallways was very nice. The facilities were great and clean, lovely pool and hot tub. Breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options to choose from. The exterior of the building has character and the staff all make you feel very welcome.
A very spacious hotel with wide corridors & large comfortable rooms. Good food downstairs in the Keller. When I stayed here midweek every other hotel was full I was surprised how I could be in a 4* hotel for £10 more than a Travelodge, the food in the Keller is approx 15 - 20% more expensive than a Beefeater, but 300% better with excellent service. Highly recommended. Rooms: Extremely comfortable bed, in a good sized well laid out room, clean with a great shower.
I stopped over when I was visiting my works head office. Hotel was very nice and had a very nice room with a balcony. I used the gym and pool whilst I was there although had I have known there was a kids swimming lesson going on, I might've come back later on for my swim. The kids were much better at swimming than me!! Loved the big fish tank that goes up several floors. Breakfast was good also. I'll definitely stop here again on my next visit.
Lovely hotel with good facilities and situated well. The room was more than big enough and comfy mattress and pillows on the bed. Could have used more staff in the lounge area bar, had to wait 10 minutes to get two drinks as the only person serving was making coffees. Breakfast and dinner was lovely, plenty of breakfast choice.Rooms: 5/5
We stayed for 2 nights as part of a Legoland deal and definitely weren't disappointed. All staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the reception area, restaurant and our room were all spotless and the food was excellent. Only slight criticism is the food is a bit pricey and the pillows weren't overly comfortable. We would definitely stay again!
4th floor has renovated rooms, really nice. Previous time I stayed on ground floor which has old dusty rooms. There is no mini fridge in the room. Swimming pool is really small and if you catch school holidays forget about it. All the staff are very helpful and welcoming.Rooms: 4/5
Big busy hotel. Clean comfortable rooms. Too cold in restaurant. Never seen people eating in coats and gloves before. Way too noisy at night. No sleep. Rubbish for those with onward travel. Noisy doors all night and rowdy guests. No thanks. Pleasant staff though and nice little pool. Food & drinks: Adult food expensive in restaurant but kids meals were good value.
Very nice hotel. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with huge rooms. Well staffed with friendly professionals for whom nothing is too much trouble. Spa with good sized swimming pool but I was disappointed at not being able to use as it is not accessible for disabled folk, entry and exit by ladder rather than Roman steps. This would put me off a return visit and was not mentioned on the website. I was not the only client that voiced this problem. Late night music and live band were well worth staying up for. Rooms: Aspect: car park. Our room was huge, tastefully furnished. Overall very comfortable and well equipped. Pity I couldn't shower in there Food & drinks: The menu we saw online didn't look very interesting but in fact the dinner included in our package was absolutely excellent! Beautifully cooked and presented, although I wasn't too keen on chocolate ice cream on a fruit strudel- vanilla please - or even the clotted cream as advertised!!! Then at breakfast there was a wide range buffet of everything you could want to start the day with from healthy muesli and yoghurt to beautifully cooked full English. Amusingly, juices included a 'rehydration' juice which was being drunk by a large quantity of people who had slightly overdone it at the club or disco the night before. Note: it worked for me Noteworthy details: The swimming pool was not easily accessible, there being a ladder to enter and exit water rather than Roman steps. I also had previously requested a room with a shower as I am unable to shower in a bath. I repeated this request on arrival but my room had a bath. This was very disappointing, a 4 star hotel stay but no shower! Not so good and this would also put me off returning there. My bed was in fact a sofa bed 4* stay! but although it wasn't brilliant it could have been worse.....
