Clean and friendly pub. Bar staff are nice and the beer is fresh. They serve food which is responsibley priced. Your standard pub grub. Great for sports events as it has many TVs dotted around the place. Great place to meet with friends. I wouldn't say it's the most social place if you go by yourself. People stay in thier own social circle. The is a garden which you can smoke in. It has benches with umbrellas. The garden has a small play area for kids.

After visiting this pub regularly, my family an I have now been refused service as we posted a negative review regarding the time it took to serve food. We waited over an hour for a bowl of chips for the kids. After chasing the meal up twice, the Landlady started shouting abuse at me. I put a review up on Facebook and due to this, I am no longer welcome at the Pub – We have on other occasions waited up to 2 hours for food to be served. The pub since it’s refurbishment has failed on the food front and I would recommend eating elsewhere if you are not willing to wait such long times.

When the Green Man had it's refurb a few years back, I loved the new layout and decor. Most pubs in the outer regions of Bracknell are 70's build estate pubs, so I like the Green Man's more traditional old pub feel. Also, considering its a Green King pub, they also have a decent few beers on tap rather than the usual Stella/Carlsberg combos found in most GK pubs. All plus points. We tried out the food on a few occasions and it was great. The burgers especially tasted home made and were good value for money (esp as SHP burgers are crazy expensive and taste like they've come from the freezer). My only gripe lately is that they never seem to be serving the full pub menu. We walked there from Birch Hill only to be told, there's only a snack menu - reason, staff shortages. Then last weekend we were going to try again but I thought I'd phone first to check. Again I was told (on a Sat afternoon), there's only a snack menu as "some of our equipment isn't working". Maybe it's just our bad luck 2 weekends in a row, but I hope this improves. Otherwise, it's a great pub.
