The rooms at first look ok and clean but closer inspection the room are not clean, rooms are damp with basic electric heaters. Ventilation in the bathroom is poor, there are no staff in the lodge. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything from the next rooms. No curtains just rubbish blinds that let in the light. WiFi is slow, check in and out is in the petrol garage opposite. Bedding was damp, and during our stay the fire Alarm went off at 4am, no sign off staff to let people know if was safe or to leave. AVOID unless you are a trucker looking for a bed.
On arriving at the hotel, noticed a sign to say book in at spar, which is next to the hotel. Quick and easy, didn't ask for a £50 deposit,as it says in the website, only a £10 deposit for the key card, which you get on return, didn't need ID,which it also says on the website. Entered the room which was very clean, and spacious, the bathroom had a shower, which was amazingly clean, and new, plenty hanging space for clothes, large dresser and chair, kettle drinking nessities, hairdryer, large TV on the wall, free WiFi,no password needed, bed was very comfy and the sheets and pillows and covers where white and very clean. You do have a key card slot, near the door,so when you insert your key card,it will automatically turn on the bathroom light, and activate the TV,also will deactivate it when you leave,so if there is two people, advice to put a credit card in to keep the TV on. Side of the building you have burger king, spar, coffee and other shops, when the main entrance to spar is closed, you need to access it from behind the child's park.enjoyed my stay here
Floors, bedding and bathroom dirty. There's no reception so you check in at the BP filling station at the services. They don't tell you that. Some confusion as to my booking so id was demanded! while another assistant chuckled, but the service was rude not funny when you just want a quiet room before a funeral.Rooms: 1/5
A basic, commercial traveller hotel. Room is a bit tired, bathroom not as shown in marketing pictures had mold around the bath and a rusty shower head, basin was cracked & the provided towels were “small” to say the least! Room was clean with good toiletries, tea/coffee making stuff. The free standing chair was too soft to sit on comfortably for work. Good sized room.
Attitude of the guy on reception fire alarm going off at 7am. Bedside light didn’t work sink plug didn’t work. Pay a £10 deposit for a key card. It’s a piece of plastic for gods sake.Rooms: 2/5
We’ll never go back there again. We booked three nights to visit families who lived nearby. Housekeeping didn’t even come once and no fresh towels for four days and three nights. They didn’t even have bath mats. As there is no reception at the hotel, we had to go to the service station shop counter to ask for towels and request housekeeping, but no one came! They didn’t even care to serve us. There was a loud party and fighting on Saturday, but no one came to stop them. The carpets were full of stains and the rooms smelled musty and dump. Not sure the rooms were cleaned properly. With Covid and everything, we were hoping everything would be really hygienic. However, they have a nice shower and a comfy bed…
Good place to stay if you need a place to rest for the night when traveling. No hassle place to stay spacious rooms just let down by cleanliness of en suite, not filfy but not clean neither. Shops nearby services. Happy with my stay cheap and worth what you pay.Rooms: 3/5
Writing my review from the hotel. Honestly one of the worst nights I've had, paper mache walls and ceilings - can hear no end of banging when other guests are walking around, opening doors or going up and down up the stairs, I can't be sure if other guests are doing it on purpose. Had to keep the TV on all night and I've shared with my daughter who was woken up a couple of times. When we first got here the rooms looked decent for one night hence the 2nd star but after all the banging I would choose not to stay here again.
Reception is in the fuel station. They can not amend or change anything. Place is dirty. Asked for room to be cleaned mid week & has not happened. Good luck getting anyone on the reception as it rings out 24/7.Rooms: 1/5
If I could give it a 0 I would, me and my boyfriend went to stay here for one night, the room standards was disgusting. Red stains all over the floor we didn’t know what it was. Cracks and dints in the walls, stains all over the walls on every wall, mould in the bath and on the shower head, sink had hair all over and the tap was just gross you could see it wasn’t clean. The tv remote full of dirty and grim. The pillows had blood spatters, the duvets wasn’t even white you could see the dirt. Made me itch got home to find out I’ve been bitten multiple times by some bug if I could add photos I would. The chair to the desk had a huge sweat mark where someone had been sat, the fire alarm went off while we was eating and we had to leave everything and go outside in the cold and rain, smell of damp all through the night, the heating wouldn’t work. It is one of the worst hotels to stay in, the standard of the hotel is just gross avoid it yes it cheap but do you want to be Ill?
