Wether you are wanting to have a drink or enjoy a superb meal, Ring O'Bells has got it all. Good quality food, wonderful & cosy atmosphere, indoors doggy area, beautiful outdoors space with covered seating and very attentive staff. Definitely a hidden gem in Christleton, which is a very pretty & quiet village at the outskirts of Chester.
Wonderful establishment both inside and out, cobbled court yard parking that seems slightly small to begin with yet it's not a problem in the end at all. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and even though some of the menu seems highly priced the portions and quality of food is there. Cheeky little selection of ales, not overwhelming but not really a fantastic choice. But what you have will be poured well and you can tell the lines are well looked after as it was a very clean and crisp pint. The menu even hosts certainly days being 2 for 1 on particular things for example I visited a Friday lunch time and was very happy with 2 for 1 on burgers! Will definitely be visiting again
O. M. G there isn't enough star's on here to talk about this place its a foodies heaven, so wellcomeing as soon as we entered, quick polite staff made you feel like your at home great place for families or just for a cuppa, quality food healthy portions... My wife and I shall definitely look forward to our return visit even though we live 90 minutes drive away
Excellent lunch here. We were a bit surprised by the 45 min wait for food, despite booking a table 45 mins after they opened, but we were able to get a 'while you wait' plate of mini sausages fairly quickly to keep the children from becoming feral! We spotted the large table in the conservatory on the way in, so we could understand this. The food was great, and the children's meals were a decent size for the price, and fresh batter fish was nice to see. Also, it was nice not just to be offered the Christmas menu. Lots of restaurants/pubs around Christmas only offer this, and it was very refreshing to order something other than turkey. Additionally, the pigs in blankets mac and cheese is genius.
Just nearly died in The Ring of Bells today, I swallowed a lump of beef which stuck my throat, I went to bar and banged on the bar to get attention to get a Heimlich Manoeuvre but got ignored, fortunately my body made me cough it up otherwise I would would've been uncontactable for all eternity I spoke to another staff member and she said she and managers were first aid trained... Good to know another time but choking is not that uncommon in restaurants, at least the Heimlich Manoeuvre, could be taught to all staff? Otherwise the meal and service was good but that particularly relevant first aid reaction and staff response to a distressed customer who may have been wrongly assessed as drunk or aggressive, should be addressed.
Very disappointing compared to previous visits. Steak in sandwich was poor quality, not pink but bloody. Fish full of bones, other meals were OK. We had to ask for our table to be cleared and we were not asked if we would like desert menu. We enquired and ordered, we had to ask if there was a delay as 25 minutes later, still no deserts. Eventually the melting ice cream arrived and pudding plus lumpy custard with skin on. Obviously been sat waiting. Another waitress was apologetic and polite to be fair. But at this point the restaurant was quiet, we were served the main courses quicker, when it was busier. Won't hurry back sorry.
A good place to eat with really nice staff. Mains are around £14 to £20. So our bill came to just over £50 for two with drinks. Easy free parking and good lighting from large patio windows.
My wife and I went to the Ring O' Bells Sunday afternoon to celebrate our daughters birthday. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious, and we all had a great time. Most definitely 5 stars...
Voted Chester's Best Pub at the Chester Food and Drink Awards, the Ring O’ Bells is located in the heart of the pretty village of Christleton near Chester, one of Cheshire’s most beautiful. The pub is a shining example of a 21st Century country pub. New meets old & contemporary meets traditional in a relaxed environment where everyone can enjoy the very best in food and drink.
Booked lat minute as we didn't know what time we would get here. Glad we did. Amazing food, big portions. Great service . Even dog enjoyed himself.
